Requirements

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support CFO and team to create additional capacity and depth of competence for overall team development and delivery within the context of a developing business
  • Deliver a range of transactional finance function activities (across AP / AR / Payroll) to ensure resilience and business continuity
  • Support month end close with payroll, key reconciliations and journals, and management reports
  • Maintain and further develop month end journal schedules as required
  • Work with other Finance staff to develop and improve systems, processes and levels of competence and delivery
  • Collaborate across the business to develop analyses and supporting processes and systems to measure business performance
  • Develop and track divisional budgets and KPIs
  • Construct and update divisional P&Ls and variance analyses
  • Develop and maintain financial model of business performance
  • Build understanding and buy-in across the team and business for finance team capability and financial and business analyses and initiatives to enhance business performance and resilience
  • Manage ad hoc financial tasks on a regular basis and be an additional point of contact for financial expertise in the organisation
  • Complete VAT reconciliations

  • Qualified accountant
  • Good communicator
  • Hands-on, common sense approach with ability to prioritise sensibly and to set and pursue realistic goals and manage time and resources to achieve them
  • Creative, dedicated problem solver, numerically fluent and skilled in analytical methods such as data cleansing, application of logical formulae (Excel or database applications)
  • Experienced in data analysis, financial modelling and advanced Excel
  • Familiar with management accounting and entry of journals, from purchase and sales invoices to general journals
  • Technologically fluent and able to suggest adoption or creation of applications for workflow management, automation of tasks, use of AI, etc.
