JOB PURPOSE

The Finance Manager provides financial leadership, governance, and commercial insight across manufacturing operations, inter site transactions, budgeting and forecasting, investment decisions, and revenue growth initiatives.
The role acts as a financial authority and decision enabler, balancing strong financial discipline with operational and commercial pragmatism. It owns complex financial evaluations end to end and partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to support both business continuity and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget, Business Plan & Forecast Ownership

  • Owns the annual Budget and Business Plan working cross functionally in line with plant strategic objectives.
  • Leads and oversees the monthly forecast process, ensuring timely, accurate, and aligned financial outlooks.
  • Coordinates inputs across operational and commercial stakeholders, challenging assumptions and ensuring consistency.
  • Provides clear visibility of risks, opportunities, and variances to plan, supporting proactive decision‑making.

Operational & Inter‑site Financial Governance

  • Financial owner for inter‑site and intercompany transactions, including pricing logic, approvals, and accounting treatment.
  • Ensures robust cost control, inventory valuation, and financial compliance while enabling operational execution.
  • Resolves ambiguity in pricing, sourcing, and ownership through clear financial direction.

Business Case Ownership & Investment Evaluation

  • Owns the full business case lifecycle from initial concept through to final financial recommendation.
  • Leads data collection, assumption validation, and financial modelling to produce accurate, decision‑ready financial expectations.
  • Provides clear visibility of commitments, investment requirements, returns, risks, and sensitivities.
  • Acts as the financial owner of assumptions and recommendations presented to leadership.

Revenue Expansion & Commercial Partnership

  • Actively participates in revenue growth and expansion initiatives.
  • Evaluates the financial attractiveness of growth opportunities, including margin, investment, and risk.
  • Challenges commercial and operational assumptions to ensure growth is profitable, sustainable, and value‑accretive.
  • Supports prioritization of opportunities based on return, risk, and strategic alignment.

Team Management

  • Lead and develop finance team ensuring succession and progression in place
Skills
  • Experienced manufacturing finance leader with strong commercial mindset.
  • Proven ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and investment evaluation.
  • Comfortable owning decisions in complex, cross‑functional environments
  • High Level of Excel skills and capability
  • SAP Experience preferred
