About Lorum

The structural conflict at the centre of correspondent banking is not technological. It is economic. Banks earn revenue from their balance sheets: they lend deposits, capture FX spreads, and hold funds as long as it is rational to do so. Clearing, the act of releasing funds quickly and predictably, competes directly with those economics. An institution designed to lend has a structural incentive to hold deposits; an institution designed to clear has an incentive to release them. When one institution does both, clearing loses. The result is unpredictable settlement, trapped capital, and a correspondent network shrinking by design.

Why Lorum

Lorum was founded on a different premise: clearing as the business, not a byproduct. The model has been operational since 2023 and grew 55x in 2025, with USD clearing now the majority of volumes alongside a growing treasury offering. We have applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter. The people we hire now will build the clearing and treasury infrastructure it unlocks.

The role

We are hiring a Finance Manager in London to own finance operations for our UK entity, and to support group finance work across EMEA and our other regions.

Our finance team is small and deliberately generalist. It covers 11 legal entities from London, Dubai and Singapore, and you will be the first finance hire based in the UK. You will report to our Director of Finance and work closely with our CFO, who joined recently as the function takes shape.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You will run the UK month-end yourself, not review someone else's. We are also mid-way through a NetSuite implementation, so you will help shape the systems you work in rather than inherit them.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Own the UK month-end close: management accounts, reconciliations and reporting

  • Run UK payroll, supplier and intercompany payment runs, client invoicing and expenses

  • Own UK bank reconciliations, VAT, and UK statutory filings alongside our external tax partner

  • Support group work across our other regions: consolidation, intercompany reconciliations and audit support

  • Contribute to our NetSuite implementation over the coming months

  • Handle ad hoc requests from stakeholders across the group, which arrive often and rarely look the same twice

Success in the first 3 to 12 months

In your first three months, you are running UK payroll, payments, reconciliations and a full month-end close independently, and you are a useful pair of hands on NetSuite.

By 6 to 12 months, you own everything UK end to end and are a genuine contributor to group-level reporting and ad hoc work across EMEA, Dubai and Singapore. You have picked up enough breadth across the group to flex wherever finance needs you.

Ideal CandidateMust Haves
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CA) with around 2 years of post-qualification experience

  • Strong management accounting: you have owned a month-end close, from reconciliations through to reporting

  • Hands-on operational finance experience: payroll, payments and bank reconciliations done by you, personally

  • A generalist track record. You are comfortable doing a bit of everything rather than owning one narrow slice of a finance function

  • Experience in a genuinely fast-paced, high-growth business, where speed and execution matter more than process

  • Happy operating as an individual contributor and owning the work directly

Nice to haves
  • Experience in fintech or payments

  • Experience at another fast-paced technology or AI startup

  • NetSuite experience, particularly involvement in an implementation

  • Exposure to multi-entity and multi-currency finance

Benefits
  • Flexible vacation policy

  • Private Healthcare

  • Employee stock ownership (ESOP)

  • Flexible working and autonomy

  • Pay it forward days - we offer 2 annual pay it forward days where you can take time to volunteer for a charitable cause that is important to you.

  • Wellness days - we believe you can only work your best when you feel your best, and we know working at Lorum is intense, so we offer 3 wellness days every quarter where you can take time to re-energize
