Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.

We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber.

We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

Cost is a first-order lever at Fuse, and this is one of the highest-impact roles at your level: every pound you catch, question or renegotiate flows straight to the bottom line. As a Cost Management Analyst you'll sit inside the team that owns cost control across the business, from supplier invoices to settlement charges to contract terms. This is not a back-office role: you'll find real savings, defend your numbers and change how the business spends money.

Responsibilities
  • Own cost lines with a direct, visible line to the P&L: what you catch or miss shows up in reported margin
  • Reconcile invoices against contracts and purchase terms across suppliers, catching discrepancies before they become write-offs
  • Build and maintain trackers that give real-time visibility into cost drivers, so issues surface in days, not at quarter close
  • Validate settlement and regulatory charges (energy market invoices, third-party fees) against internal accruals and flag variances
  • Dig into specific cost lines, contracts or vendor relationships to find savings, then build the analysis to make the case
  • Support negotiations with suppliers and partners by preparing the cost and usage data behind the ask
  • Automate the manual, repetitive parts of cost tracking and reconciliation so the team's time goes toward judgement calls

Requirements
  • Very strong first-principles thinking: you want to understand why a cost exists before you try to reduce it
  • Comfortable in a fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environment
  • Analytical, structured and proactive: someone who chases down discrepancies rather than waiting for them to be explained
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • A genuine interest in cost control, procurement, or operational finance
  • Bonus: Prior experience in banking, consulting, accounting, procurement or a startup finance team; exposure to contract or invoice reconciliation, vendor management or process automation; coding skills (Python, SQL or similar) for building cost-tracking tools

Benefits
  • Competitive salary and eligibility for equity
  • Biannual bonus scheme
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs
  • Private health insurance
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employees

As we hire globally, benefits vary by location.
