Finance Business Partner

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join the Wealth Management Financial Planning & Analysis (‘FP&A’) team. The role will focus on partnering with the WM COO including Transformation, Operations, Technology and Data functions.

The Finance Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor to the business, combining strong financial insight with commercial acumen to provide forward-looking analysis, challenge performance, and support key strategic initiatives.

We have been at 1 London Wall Place since 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre, and have everything we need to work flexibly.

What you'll do

Business Partnering & Commercial Support

• Act as a trusted finance advisor to the WM COO and Operations, Transformation, Data and Technology functions, supporting decision-making division wide
• Provide commercial insight on key decisions including investment cases, cost optimisation, and strategic initiatives
• Translate financial performance into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business outcomes

Performance Management & Insight

• Lead performance discussions with the specified business functions, focusing on key drivers
• Interpret management information and challenge performance against targets, identifying risks and opportunities
• Provide clear, structured commentary on financial performance, linking outcomes to underlying business activity

Planning & Forecasting (Business Ownership)

• Partner with stakeholders to shape budgets and forecasts, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned to strategy
• Provide forward-looking analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic planning
• Challenge business inputs and ensure financial plans reflect operational reality

Strategic Analysis & Projects

• Support strategic initiatives, transformation programmes, and business change through financial analysis and insight, business case review and benefits tracking
• Deliver ad hoc analysis on key topics
• Influence prioritisation and resource allocation decisions across the business

Performance Challenge & Governance

• Act as a critical POC to the business, providing constructive challenge on performance and cost discipline
• Ensure financial outcomes are well understood and aligned with strategic objectives
• Work closely with other members of the team to ensure consistency between reported performance, forecasts, and business narrative

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with strong experience in FP&A, commercial finance or transformation financials
• Experience and exposure to business cases, benefits realisation and the financial impact of transformation initiatives 
• Proven experience in business partnering, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience supporting decision-making in a complex business environment
• Experience in financial analysis, planning, and performance management
• Excellent analytical capability, with confidence working with data and translating insights into clear narratives
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Wealth Management experience with exposure to Operations, Technology, Data and Transformation advantageous
• Experience with HFM, Power BI and management allocations advantageous
