Description
Finance Analyst – Outdoor Gross Margin Team

Reporting of the Role
This role reports to the Finance Manager
Overview of job

Commercial Finance at Global

Central to the continued success of Global is having a world-class finance team supporting, advising, and challenging the business. This is an industry and business model where strategy evolves rapidly, decisions and trade-offs are complex and there’s no shortage of good ideas. At Global, Commercial Finance plays an increasingly catalytic and strategic role in decision making and delivery.

Core to the role is business partnering, being a trusted advisor to the business, and providing forward looking analysis that drives brilliant decision making and value creation. We have exciting plans and growth opportunities, and we need smart, engaged thinkers who can build trust and advocacy with the business, partnering with them to explore, decide and deliver.

This is a great role to land into, providing the platform to influence the agenda on high profile initiatives, working closely with Board members and senior decision makers across the business, and supporting an exciting finance career path beyond the role.

Finance Analyst – Outdoor Gross Margin

As a Finance Analyst in the Outdoor Gross Margin team, you’ll play a key role in shaping strategic decisions that drive growth, efficiency and value across the Outdoor business. You’ll partner with senior stakeholders and support relationships with our key commercial and franchise partners, delivering impactful financial planning and analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail orientated professional to support sustainable revenue growth and optimise gross margins by contributing to investment decisions, data analysis, budgets, and forecasts. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex data, wants to deepen their commercial and strategic finance skills and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.

Best things about the job

  • Think Big: Influence high impact decisions and work closely with senior leaders across the business.
  • Own It: Play a key part in managing our franchise and commercial relationships, including monitoring, reporting, financial planning and insightful analysis.
  • Keep it Simple: Turn complex data into clear, actionable insights. Simplify processes, and help the business stay focused on what matters most.
  • Better Together: Collaborate with cross functional teams by building trust and strong working relationships.

Measures of success
In the first few months, you will

  • Understand and support the financial evaluation and approval process for Commercial Deals with Media Specialists, providing clear, accurate and commercially focused analysis.
  • Build and maintain robust financial models for tenders, commercial opportunities, strategic projects and estate investment decisions.
  • Support the development of investment cases, including M&A assessments, valuation analysis and due diligence materials where required.
  • Analyse performance against expectations, identifying variances, risks, opportunities and recommended follow-up actions.
  • Provide insight across different environments, formats and customer segments to help shape deal strategy and commercial decision making.
  • Build effective working relationships across Finance, Commercial, Operations and Sales, becoming a trusted partner for financial insight on priority deals and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities of the role

  • Commercial Deal Evaluation, Modelling & Tender Support (40%): Evaluate Commercial Deals with Media Specialists and build financial models for tenders, pricing and commercial opportunities, providing clear recommendations and approval materials.
  • Deal Performance & Reporting (20%): Track deal performance against expectations, highlighting variances, risks, opportunities and required actions.
  • Strategic Projects & M&A Support (15%): Support M&A assessments and priority projects through valuation, due diligence, investment cases and scenario modelling.
  • Capex & Estate Investment Analysis (10%): Model the financial impact of estate investment decisions, including delivery delays, accelerations and changes to assumptions.
  • Commercial Insight & Stakeholder Support (10%): Analyse performance across environments, formats and customer segments to inform deal strategy and stakeholder decisions.
  • Modelling Tools & Process Improvement (5%): Improve modelling tools, templates and processes to strengthen consistency, efficiency and insight.

What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with experience working with complex data and performance reporting.
  • Confident using Excel and financial planning tools; exposure to BI or data visualisation tools is an advantage.
  • Proactive and curious, comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions and solving business problems.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communicator, able to present complex information clearly to finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Able to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels and think holistically about risks, opportunities and value drivers.
  • Open‑minded about background: you may be newly qualified in a finance role in industry, or bring similar experience from advisory, consultancy, transaction services, M&A or corporate finance. We’re especially interested in people who have gravitated towards commercial and strategic work rather than pure controllership.

Everybody is welcome at Global

Just like our media and entertainment platforms are for everyone, so are our workplaces. We know that we can’t possibly serve our diverse audiences without first nurturing and celebrating it in our people and that’s why we work hard to create an inclusive culture for everyone. We believe that different will set us apart, so no matter what you look like, where you come from or what your favourite radio station is, we want to hear from you. Although we cannot make guarantees, we welcome conversations about flexible working for all roles at Global.
