Finance Administrator

Salary: £28,000 per annum plus company benefits

Location: Basingstoke, RG21 4DZ

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9.00am-5:30pm, 1 hour unpaid lunch break

Work Model: Hybrid after training

Williams Lea seeks a Finance Administrator to join our team!

Purpose of role

The Finance Administrator Assistant will work as part of the Legal Transaction Team to provide the highest level of customer service assisting all departments within the firm when necessary. Whilst the list of tasks in this document is not exhaustive, the Finance Administrator Assistant may cover any combination of the tasks set out below and will provide excellent customer service, performing all operations requested without direct supervision.

This includes, but is not limited to, the efficient and prompt answering of queries, adhering to all Williams Lea policies and procedures, courteous interaction with clients and visitors following the Williams Lea protocols for this service, completing all work within the agreed services levels and assisting with completing general administrative duties as required.

The Finance Administrator Assistant is accountable for maintaining the established relationship between Williams Lea and our clients. You will be able to recognise and translate the client’s needs and to translate these into a responsive service. .

Key responsibilities

  • Generating draft bills and checking:
    • that bill payer information is correct
    • if amendments are needed to bill payer information, make them in the client database
    • check the time narratives for typing errors (spellcheck)
  • File openings
  • File closures
  • Electronic payments
  • Treasury Sanctions check
  • Land Registry Bankruptcy checks
  • International Bankruptcy checks
  • Verification of bank details
  • IDs for beneficiaries
  • Credit Control

Personal Attributes

  • Previous experience of Aderant/Peppermint would be preferrable
  • Knowledge within day to day tasks i.e. raising prebills, electronic payments and verifying bank details
  • High standard of written and verbal communication
  • Proficient multi-tasker
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office suite
