Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Fast Track Account team, within Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) at Marsh. This role can be based within our Norwich, London or Birmingham offices. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

What can you expect:

The Fast Track Account Manager within Marsh Portfolio Solutions (MPS) is responsible for rapidly developing and managing a portfolio of assigned risks, delivering outstanding operational service, accelerating placement where appropriate and ensuring adherence to agreed Delegated Authority. This role requires exceptional speed, prioritisation and communication skills to manage a high-volume workload and deliver consistent quality.

The Fast Track Account Manager (MPS) receives risks via the workflow team from two sources:

  • London (the UK broker)
  • Local teams (risks from outside the UK, routed via our Mumbai team)

On receipt of a risk the Account Manager will:

  • Review the submission against our agreed Delegated Authority
  • Query any issues and request missing documentation promptly.
  • Determine whether the risk can be placed under delegated authority or needs referral to Contract Leader for approval; where referral is required, contact the carrier to explain the issues and obtain authorisation.

We will count on you to:

  • Rapidly triage incoming risks and prioritise workload to maintain flow.
  • Raise and follow up queries with brokers (London or local) and the Mumbai team; building strong working relationships with both.
  • Manage endorsements, and other policy administration tasks.
  • Support side projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the Fast Track process.
  • Keep accurate records and updates in the workflow system
  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to Underwriting Managers or the Team Leader when appropriate.
  • Act as the primary operational contact for brokers and internal colleagues on assigned risks.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with carriers, articulating technical issues and securing approvals when needed.
  • Maintain close working relationships with the Mumbai operations team to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent service.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of incoming risks within the MPS Fast Track stream, ensuring timely review and progression.
  • Review submissions against the agreed UW framework and panel carrier appetite, applying commercial judgment to accept, amend or refer risks.
  • Request missing documentation and raise technical or commercial queries with brokers and the Mumbai team; follow up promptly to keep files moving.
  • Refer risks to Contract Leader for approval when required and liaise with carriers to obtain authorisations, clearly articulating the issues and rationale.
  • Complete policy administration tasks including endorsements, TSA and aggregate queries with accuracy and within SLA.
  • Maintain precise records and update the workflow/CRM system on status, actions and outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and small projects designed to streamline Fast Track processes.
  • Escalate exceptions, complex issues and potential non-compliance to the Team Leader or underwriting partners.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience in account management, underwriting support, policy administration or a similar operational role within insurance broking or underwriting.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills; proven ability to work at pace and manage a heavy workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence speaking to brokers and carriers and obtaining approvals.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and reliable follow-through.
  • Team player with the ability to build effective relationships with Marsh brokers, the Mumbai operations team and underwriting partners.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
