About the Role
At Morningstar, our workplace is more than just a place to work, it's where our people connect, collaborate, and bring our purpose to life. We're looking for a hands-on, high-impact Facilities Manager to lead our London office and help shape the day-to-day experience of our colleagues across the UK.
This is not a desk-based role. You'll be the heartbeat of the office, visible, approachable, and always a step ahead. From resolving issues before they become problems, to creating an environment people genuinely enjoy being in, you'll play a key role in making the office feel seamless, welcoming, and high performing.
You'll combine operational excellence, strong stakeholder relationships, and a passion for workplace experience to deliver a workplace that reflects Morningstar's values of transparency, independence, and continuous growth. Whether it's keeping the basics running flawlessly or driving meaningful improvements, this is a role for someone who takes pride in the detail and thrives on making things better.
Key Responsibilities:
Workplace & Operational Leadership
  • Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of Facilities and Workplace services across the London office, ensuring a consistently high standard.
  • Be a visible and approachable presence, acting as the primary point of contact for workplace matters.
  • Create a workplace experience that is welcoming, inclusive and high performing, with a focus on colleague wellbeing and productivity.
  • Foster a "one team" culture across internal teams and service partners.

Facilities Management & Service Delivery
  • Ensure all hard and soft FM services are delivered in line with SLAs, KPIs, and agreed standards.
  • Proactively manage planned and reactive maintenance, intervening where necessary to maintain service quality.
  • Oversee vendor and supplier performance, driving accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage landlord and managing agent relationships, ensuring service charge delivery aligns with expectations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and performance reviews.

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Own and oversee statutory compliance and H&S performance, ensuring adherence to all UK regulatory requirements.
  • Support and lead activities such as:
  • Fire safety and evacuation procedures
  • Risk assessments and audits
  • Incident management and investigations
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant workplace environment at all times.

Workplace Experience & Community
  • Act as the face of the workplace, setting the tone for service delivery and colleague experience.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance:
  • Employee engagement
  • Workplace culture
  • Collaboration and community
  • Coordinate workplace events, initiatives, and feedback forums.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the working environment through feedback and observation.

Financial & Commercial Management
  • Manage and monitor Facilities budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money.
  • Review and approve spend, supplier costs, and recharges with commercial awareness.
  • Support forecasting and budget planning processes.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency savings and service enhancements.

Oversight (UK Offices)
  • Provide oversight and support to UK offices, ensuring alignment with Morningstar standards.
  • Build strong relationships with local stakeholders and service providers across the portfolio.
  • Support mobilisations, projects, and workplace improvements across multiple locations.
  • Travel occasionally as required.

Sustainability & Continuous Improvement
  • Support and drive sustainability initiatives, including waste, energy, and environmental performance.
  • Contribute to reporting and improvement initiatives aligned to Morningstar's environmental goals.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing better ways of working.

Incident & Business Continuity Management
  • Support and coordinate incident response and escalation management.
  • Contribute to and maintain business continuity and resilience planning.
  • Act as a calm and reliable lead during operational disruptions.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Facilities Management within a corporate office environment.
  • Strong knowledge of both hard and soft services delivery.
  • Experience managing suppliers, stakeholders, and multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrable experience in H&S compliance and workplace operations.
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and commercial decision-making.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused - willing to roll up sleeves and lead from the front.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across locations.
  • Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Commercially aware with good attention to detail.
  • Passionate about delivering an exceptional workplace experience.

Qualifications (Desirable)
  • IWFM qualification (or equivalent)
  • IOSH / NEBOSH (or equivalent H&S certification)

Measures of Success
