What’s the role about?

As part of our Womenswear Fabric department, you’ll be joining as our Fabric Developer, who is responsible of managing the fabric sourcing and development of all soft product areas, following from sampling stage to bulk order placement. Ensuring the soft product range delivers brand direction, quality, and margin whilst supporting the senior fabric manager in improving sustainability credentials each season.


Who you are

  • You have fabric experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of fabric sourcing and development from lower level through to high end
  • Strong team player and leadership skills
  • You have high fabric taste level and strong market and commercial awareness
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment working with tight deadlines and across several projects simultaneously


What you’ll be doing

  • Working in Sourcing and development, supporting Senior Fabric Manager in building and presenting fabric trend boards each season
  • You will be responsible for sourcing a fabric range which delivers on Reiss aesthetic at the highest quality. Travel to mill and trade shows will be required, with a focus on print and soft woven categories
  • Working closely with design and product development to ensure that the final product supports a balanced range, delivering on set target margins per category
  • Driving continuous improvements to core fabrications, exploring new routes, and putting forward suggestions to consolidate business and drive profit margins
  • Procuring yarn and fabric, negotiating price, lead time and payment terms when placing seasonal greige orders. Communicating to the production and buying team on any information impacting the critical path, including booking deadlines and price validation
  • Supporting the senior fabric manager in collating all relevant information for seasonal strategies, including commodity prices, pre seasonal fabric data and sustainability results
