Your RoleAs Executive Producer for The News Agents Podcast at Global, you will lead the editorial, creative, and operational delivery of one of the most influential daily news podcasts in the market, ensuring it remains agenda-setting, distinctive, and must-listen.
You’ll oversee the end-to-end production of the podcast, from editorial planning and talent management to day-to-day workflow management and leading the post-production edit process. You’ll combine first-rate editorial judgement with outstanding production skills, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of how audiences consume news across audio, video, social, and digital platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesShow Production – 50%Maintain and drive the editorial vision, tone, and ambition of The News Agents.
Lead daily planning meetings to ensure coverage is timely, original, authoritative, and engaging.
Work closely with hosts, producers, and newsroom teams to identify the strongest stories, angles, guests, and lines of questioning.
Ensure all output meets the highest journalistic, legal, editorial, and compliance standards.
Drive distinctive storytelling formats, special episodes, and series.
Troubleshoot editorial and operational issues quickly in a fast-moving news environment.
Oversee the show’s post-production process and ensure consistently high-quality output.
Build strong working relationships with presenters and help them deliver confident, compelling, and distinctive content.
Work closely with the show’s Editor and Digital Editor to plan key moments of coverage.
Use audience data, analytics, and listener insight to inform editorial and production decisions.
Identify opportunities to strengthen the show’s reach, engagement, and impact across platforms.
Plan coverage for major news events, special episodes, and live audience recordings outside the studio environment.
Lead and oversee outside broadcasts and on-location recordings, ensuring editorial quality, technical excellence, and smooth logistical delivery.
Work closely with technical, production, and editorial teams to manage risk, compliance, contributor access, and transmission requirements for location-based output.
Ensure outside broadcasts are delivered efficiently, safely, and to deadline while maintaining the podcast’s editorial standards and tone.

Significant experience in senior audio, podcast, radio, or newsroom production roles.
A proven track record of leading successful news, current affairs, or speech-based programming.
Exceptional editorial judgement and a strong understanding of the news agenda.
Experience managing presenters and talent and leading production teams in high-pressure environments.
Strong scripting, story development, interviewing, and editorial planning skills.
Excellent organisational and decision-making skills, with strong attention to detail.
Experience using audience data and performance metrics to shape content strategy.
A strong understanding of media law, compliance, and editorial standards.
The ability to work confidently and make sound editorial decisions in a fast-paced, constantly evolving news environment.
