Powering Great Work

We started as the place to find a trusted trade. Now, as we shape the future of home improvement, we're building the tech to transform that landscape for everyone - better products, smarter data, AI where it actually helps - so trades can spend less time on admin and consumers can find someone they trust, first time. That's Powering Great Work, and it's why every team here exists:

🔧 Trades spend less time on admin and more on winning work and growing their business

🏠 Homeowners get a trusted trade, first time, every time

🚀 We get to build products that change homes and lives across the country

As our next Executive Assistant to the CEO, you'll keep the day-to-day running smoothly so they can focus on the big calls. You'll own the diary, the priorities and the details in between, with a seat close to the decisions shaping Checkatrade's next chapter. It's a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

The job, unfiltered:

  • Own the CEO's diary end to end: prioritise what matters, protect focus time and make sure every meeting has a clear purpose and the right people in the room.

  • Coordinate board and leadership meetings: pull the papers together, chase actions and make sure nothing falls through the cracks between sessions.

  • Manage complex travel and itineraries, so the CEO turns up ready and without the faff.

  • Be the first point of contact for the CEO, handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and representing them well with senior stakeholders, investors and the exec team.

  • Keep the leadership team's rhythm on track by coordinating offsites, leadership meetings and the cross-team moments that keep everyone aligned.

  • Spot where things could run better and fix them. You'll have real ownership of how the CEO's office runs day to day.

The fit:

  • Experience supporting a CEO, founder or senior executive in a fast-moving business, ideally at C-suite level.

  • A sharp eye for detail, and the judgement to know what's urgent, what's important and what can wait.

  • Total discretion with confidential and sensitive information. People trust you with the details that matter.

  • A calm, organised approach under pressure, with the confidence to manage upwards and push back when needed.

(Don't self-select out because you don't tick every box. We'd rather meet you.)
