Searcys are looking for an Events Planner to join the team at RCS .

As an Events Planner you will manage and plan all private, wedding, and small to medium corporate events in line with company policies, ensuring exceptional client experiences, protection of brand reputation, and achievement of revenue and profit targets. The role focuses on high-quality event planning, effective communication with internal teams and suppliers, maximising up-selling opportunities, and supporting repeat business.

The View is a stunning venue located at the heart of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, founded in 1800 by Royal Charter and serves as the professional home of surgery in both England and worldwide. This venue provides the ideal setting for hosting a grand conference or a magnificent wedding ceremony, combining the latest modern amenities with a rich heritage of scientific research and innovation, all within the heart of London

Job Description

Previous experience of planning events is required, inclusive of external supplier coordination, preparation of function sheets, briefing the Operations team, and post-event evaluation, using strong organisational, multitasking, and communication skills to create successful, memorable events and exceed client goals. 

Job Type: Full Time 40 hours  (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £32–£34K

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily function sheets, attend meetings, liaise with suppliers, and obtain client quotations in line with venue SOPs
  • Maintain the events diary (Rendezvous), ensuring accuracy of details and revenue
  • Plan and deliver weddings, private events, and support large-scale events with the Sales team
  • Act as the main point of contact for weddings, attending live events as required and coordinating on-the-day operations
  • Manage client communication, upselling opportunities, and special requirements, ensuring timely coordination with internal teams
  • Oversee smooth event operations in collaboration with department heads and brief the events team on updates and BEO changes
  • Ensure accurate billing, deposit collection, and compliance with contracts and invoicing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with legal, licensing, and health & safety requirements
  • Attend required meetings, training, and represent Searcys professionally at all times

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 years of venue event planning
  • Proven experience in event planning within a high-end venue, hotel, or catering company Is preferable
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional events and client experiences.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of London’s events and hospitality market is an advantage.
