Position Overview

We are looking for a European reporter who wants to make a name for themselves covering two of the fast-growing beats in commercial property – logistics and data centres. This is not a role where you will be stuck rewriting press releases. Your focus will be on meeting people and building a contact base in order to break news stories and write in-depth analysis for Green Street News, the leading publication covering the commercial property market globally. This role is focused on the UK and Europe.

Some of our past scoops – including Blackstone’s acquisition of €1bn French logistics business Proudreed and the departure of British Land’s CEO to join P3 Logistic Parks – show the range of the internationally significant stories we break. Property is an open and social industry that offers the successful candidate the chance to quickly build a contact base and establish themselves. The successful candidate will ideally be London-based. Our European head office is in Mayfair and we have a satellite office in Manchester. We also have European reporters in France and Germany.

Job Responsibilities
  • Breaking exclusive stories on the logistics and data centre markets in the UK and Europe
  • Establishing a contact base and regularly meeting senior industry figures
  • Writing analysis pieces and interviews
  • Overseeing the publication of Green Street News’ UK morning bulletin once a week and weekly pan-European logistics bulletin
  • Attending industry conferences
  • Collaborate on stories with the wider Green Street News and Green Street Infrastructure teams
Candidate Profile
  •  1-2 years of experience as a business journalist. Candidates with a background in real estate will also be considered
  • Exceptional command of written English
  • Ability to work a patch and break news
  • Real estate knowledge/experience would be advantageous but is not a necessity
  • Another European language, especially Spanish or Dutch, would be advantageous but is not a requirement
  • A collaborative mindset, keen to share in and celebrate the team’s successes
  • A willingness to learn, adapt and take on instruction, with a positive attitude to personal development
Compensation, Benefits and Work Authorization
