As a Trading Services Associate within the Equity Index Exotics Team, you'll be responsible for the completion of daily procedures, controls and providing operational support for 5 desks who trade structured products in over-the-counter and securitised formats.
Job responsibilities
- Becomes an independent SME performing daily trade lifecycling and event management.
- Takes ownership of trade capture in risk management systems to fulfill Trading/Sales requests and performing key risk/PnL checks.
- Assists in the resolution of a variety of ad hoc queries, coming from key partners in teams such as Product Control, Market Risk, Sales, Structuring, Quantitative Research and Technology.
- Completes start / end of day processes, including completeness and reconciliation checks to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been performed accurately.
- Works closely with other business functions to gather appropriate information, form solutions to complex problems and communicate these to the relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures all controls are diligently performed on a timely basis, with issues escalated appropriately.
- Participates and contributes to various strategic initiatives allowing constant evolution of our processes and business architecture to generate scale, whilst ensuring the Exotics function is aligned with changes to the regulatory framework.
- Builds an in-depth understanding of the Exotics space and the underpinning operational framework to bring creative, innovative ideas to the table regarding how we can bring further robustness and visibility across our key controls and procedures.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Possesses an understanding of basic derivative products (options, swaps, futures) and simple exotics payoffs (variance swaps, auto-callable options, etc.).
- Knowledge of front-to-back operational procedure (including key elements such as legal documentation, economic affirmation, confirmations, settlements, and regulatory reporting) and has experience facilitating issue resolution across teams.
- Must have clear communication skills and leverage these to work collaboratively and challenge, as appropriate.
- Illustrates an ability to be proactive and take ownership, possessing strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Great team player, who can work methodically in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
- Strategic thinking ability and passion for innovation & change management.

- Strong technical skills, especially in Excel & Alteryx
