About the Role: 

CrowdStrike's Advanced Research team is expanding. We develop innovative detection capabilities that enable CrowdStrike to stay ahead of the adversary and stop breaches. We're looking to add a software engineer with experience building and maintaining cloud services.

You'll work within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with Security, Data Science, Engineering, and Visualization experts, all working toward the goal of developing innovative solutions to long-standing challenges in security.

We provide opportunities for creativity, learning new skills, mentoring fellow engineers, and building technologies that meaningfully improve the protection we provide for our customers. We work in a distributed, remote-first, high-trust environment where you manage your own time.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with industry-leading technologies like Kafka, Flink, Redis, ElasticSearch and Cassandra and LLMs.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the capabilities of distributed cloud services. Keeping services up and running in a healthy state.

  • Work closely with other internal engineering teams to integrate new capabilities into our Falcon platform

What You'll Need:

  • Computer science degree or commensurate experience.

  • Programming expertise in at least one language.  Java / Scala, Go, or Python experience is preferred.

  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, RESTful patterns, and multithreading concepts.

  • Proficiency building and scaling services in production.

  • Hands on experience to any of the CI/CD tools and process such as Jenkins / Bamboo

  • Experience interacting with major cloud provider APIs to provision cloud infrastructure, and to monitor it. (AWS, GCP, AZURE)

  • Effective communication across functions and levels throughout the company

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with AWS, Kafka, Flink, Grafana

  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Strong debugging skills

  • Hands on experience in large-scale (distributed) system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization

  • Experience working in cybersecurity or intelligence fields

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
