We currently have an opening for an Employment Tax Manager to develop and roll out the group's global employment tax governance framework in line with our tax strategy and corporate objectives. You will also be responsible for implementing a risk assessment programme for employment taxes globally, including process and control improvements and effective compliance monitoring measures.
Responsibilities
Manage the tax aspects of global mobility covering areas including:
Review assignment contracts from a tax perspective
Identify and manage tax risks associated with cross border working
Ensure expatriate tax compliance globally with support from external advisors
Management of expatriate payrolls such as Appendix 8, Appendix 7B, Appendix 5
Liaise with HR and payroll teams to ensure that expatriates and cross border workers are being taxed appropriately
STBV reporting, including improvement or refinement in processes
Supporting HR to provide tax input as required across compliance, process, and policy initiatives
Oversight of off payroll worker processes, ensuring internal processes and controls are operating as expected and provide training and advice to the business.
Manage UK share scheme tax reporting requirements and advise on overseas requirements to ensure compliance.
Advise on other UK employment tax matters including:
Tax impact assessments for proposed UK benefits and policy changes
Termination payments and PENP calculations
Taxable benefits / payrolling of benefits
Review of P11Ds, PSAs etc
SAO process for employment taxes
Review of systems and processes that support employment tax reporting
The post holder will also be responsible for liaison with HMRC on employment tax matters and support tax authority audits and enquiries more widely, ensuring they are manged effectively and keeping up to date with legislative change and provide awareness, education, and training for relevant stakeholders.
Key requirements
Degree qualified in Finance, Law, Economics or similar and ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent), with at least 5+ years’ post qualification experience in a similar role with proven advisory and compliance experience.
Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
Highly literate and numerate with problem solving skills, and an ability to documentation research and conclusions drawn to ensure a robust audit trail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders and convey complex information in an understandable manner with the ability to adapt to the audience.
