Our wider business is growing at over 20% year on year and Employment Tax is a strategic priority. We are building a focused Employment Tax team to meet increasing client demand across compliance, advisory and cost recovery.
As part of this growth, we are seeking an experienced Equity and Share Plans Senior Manager to grow and lead our UK equity and incentive offering.
This is a senior, market-facing role with responsibility for shaping and delivering Ryan’s share plans and reward proposition. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial instinct, playing a central role in building client relationships, developing go-to-market strategy and driving revenue growth in a high-potential area.

Duties and responsibilities, as they align with Ryan Key Results:

People

  • Act as a technical leader within the UK Employment Tax team, building capability in share plans and reward

  • Support the development of junior team members through coaching and on-the-job technical guidance

  • Contribute to recruitment and team development as the practice scales

  • Embed high standards of technical quality, risk management and client delivery

  • Collaborate with colleagues across tax, corporate finance and international teams to deliver coordinated client solutions

Client

  • Build and scale a portfolio of clients, identifying opportunities across existing relationships and new markets

  • Advise a broad range of clients including listed groups, private businesses, scale-ups and investor-backed organisations on the design, implementation and operation of employee incentive arrangements

  • Provide technical advice on UK share plans, including EMI, CSOP, growth shares, employee benefit trusts and employee ownership structures

  • Support clients on transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and review of share-related tax matters in legal documentation

  • Lead complex advisory engagements, ensuring delivery of clear, practical and commercially grounded advice

  • Engage directly with senior stakeholders (CFO, HRD, Head of Tax), presenting recommendations and driving decision-making

  • Integrate share plans advice into broader Employment tax, Mobility and wider Tax propositions

Value

  • Lead the development and execution of Ryan’s equity and share plans market strategy, aligned to wider Employment Tax growth objectives

  • Take ownership of revenue generation within share plans, including originating new work, expanding existing client relationships and contributing to overall Employment Tax revenue growth

  • Build and deliver a sustainable pipeline of advisory opportunities across equity incentives, transactions and reward structuring

  • Develop go-to-market propositions across equity incentives, reward structuring and Employment Tax integration, with a clear focus on monetisation and scalable delivery

  • Act as a senior technical and commercial voice in the market, contributing to thought leadership, client events and strategic discussions to drive brand visibility and revenue opportunities

  • Identify and convert opportunities to leverage Ryan’s technology and global network to enhance service delivery and unlock new revenue streams

  • Advise on the interaction between equity incentives and wider Employment Tax considerations, including PAYE/NIC, reporting and international aspects, identifying opportunities for additional advisory support

  • Monitor legislative and market developments, translating these into actionable client insights, new service offerings and revenue-generating opportunities

Education and Experience:

  • Significant experience in share plans and employee incentives gained within a professional services or in-house environment

  • Strong tax technical expertise across UK equity arrangements (EMI, CSOP, growth shares, EBTs, EOTs), with an appreciation of international considerations

  • Demonstrable experience advising on transactions, structuring and implementation of incentive arrangements

  • Commercially focused, with a track record of building client relationships and contributing to revenue growth

  • Ability to operate at a strategic level, engaging senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to build and scale a service offering within a growing practice

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to distil complex technical issues into clear, actionable advice

  • Relevant professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred
