Job Description:

As part of the Employee Relations team, the Employee Relations Senior Specialist – (Policy & Compliance) supports the development, maintenance and implementation of HR policies and compliance activities across Europe. The role plays a key part in supporting policy and compliance initiatives arising from the Employment Rights Act 2025 and wider legislative developments, helping to ensure policies, guidance and supporting materials are accurate, accessible and consistently applied.

What you'll do:

Policy development

  • Support the delivery of the policy roadmap across Europe including research, drafting, implementation support and coordination of communications

  • Conduct research and benchmarking across Europe to inform policy development and ensure alignment with best practice and legislative requirements

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and updating HR policies, guidance, forms and letters to ensure they remain legally compliant and user-friendly

  • Maintain policy templates to ensure they remain clear, accessible and consistent in tone

  • Work with our external partner to ensure consistent formatting and quality control across our suite of policies

  • Support the development of manager guidance, tools and training materials related to policy and compliance

  • Partner with the inclusion & diversity team to ensure policies are inclusive and reflect best practice

Compliance activity

  • Support HR compliance activities and projects as directed by the Senior Manager

  • Assist with immigration compliance activities in partnership with the Compliance Manager, including maintaining right to work guidance and supporting sponsorship processes

  • Support with preparations for external audits (e.g., Home Office) by maintaining accurate records and documentation

  • Contribute to the ongoing monitoring of compliance requirements and emerging legislative changes

Teamwork & collaboration

  • Work collaboratively within the ER COE to support delivery of policy and compliance objectives

  • Build effective working relationships with HR colleagues and key stakeholders across the business

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of policy & compliance processes

Governance and continuous improvement

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Support the monitoring and reporting of compliance and policy metrics

Administrative and operational support

  • Provide administrative support for the Policy & Compliance team, including tracking and reporting on budgets, raising purchase orders and supporting financial and operational reporting where required

What you'll bring:

  • UK Employee Relations experience, ideally in a retail or customer-facing environment

  • Experience supporting the drafting and updating of HR policies and accompanying guidance, letters and forms

  • Good understanding of UK employment legislation and HR compliance requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Clear written communication skills with the ability to produce practical guidance

  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams
