As an Analyst or Associate in our Hardware and Payments Equity Research Team, you will deepen your interest in equities, markets, companies, and thematic trends. You’ll be part of J.P. Morgan’s top-ranked Global Research franchise, working closely with senior analysts to develop impactful company, sector, and thematic reports. As an Analyst or Associate in the Tech Hardware and Payments Equity Research Team, you will work with senior colleagues to provide thought-leadership to institutional clients. You’ll maintain and update valuation models and databases, prepare materials for research reports, and contribute to writing quarterly results alerts, stock reports, and thematic pieces. You will communicate with institutional investors, company representatives, and internal clients, staying abreast of company and industry developments. Your role offers the opportunity to build relationships, develop expertise, and make a meaningful impact.

Job responsibilities

  • Work with senior colleagues to provide thought-leadership to institutional clients regarding the sector.
  • Maintain and update valuation models and databases.
  • Prepare materials for regular publication of research reports, including data analysis and presentation.
  • Contribute to writing research reports, including quarterly results alerts, stock reports, and thematic pieces.
  • Communicate with institutional investors, company representatives, and internal clients (Sales, Sales-Traders, and Traders).
  • Stay abreast of company and industry developments.
     

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage and influence partners and stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for a team-focused environment where each individual’s insight and expertise is valued.
  • Analytical approach to building and maintaining financial models.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Relationship building skills; comfortable connecting with a wide range of individuals and distilling complex issues into specific conclusions.
     

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in equity research or financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with Technology sector trends and companies.
  • Ability to prepare and present research materials to clients.
  • Experience with valuation models and databases.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/economics degrees combined with Physics/Electrical Engineering would be an added plus
  • Proactive approach to learning and professional development

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
