AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees’ work-life integration.  Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person (at client site or AlixPartners office) and remote working.  Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.

What you’ll do

As the EMEA Clients and BD Programs Manager you will closely work with the EMEA Head of Marketing & BD, the EMEA Business Development Director and wider team and will play a central role in developing and executing the client and business development programs across EMEA. This role has high visibility and daily interaction with Partner Managing Directors (PMDs) and Partners across the region, and is both strategic and operational, with a focus on always delivering an overall first-class service.

Commercial program planning & execution

  • With the EMEA Business Development Director, refine and improve the Commercial Program input form on an annual basis to reflect close collaboration with the Commercial Role Clarification inputs and ensure full alignment and ease of completion for PMDs and Partners.
  • Liaise with Commercial Programs Lead in the US to ensure global alignment.
  • Work with BIC colleagues to create dynamic dashboards and outputs.
  • Facilitate an annual planning meeting with EMEA ISL and Country Leaders to analyse outputs and create actionable plans.
  • Monitor plans and host quarterly updates with EMEA ISL leaders to track progress.
  • Liaise with global L&D and talent teams and input into training programs based on Commercial Program outputs.

Client, contacts and CRM

  • Be the key EMEA contact for the Strategic Clients program – supporting EMEA ISLs to identify key clients and key targets.
  • With the EMEA Business Development Director, represent the EMEA business in the CRM upgrade project ensuring that the contact management design and implementation reflects the needs of a multi-jurisdictional business.
  • Support the change management program to roll out new and upgraded CRM capabilities – help to drive adoption in the EMEA markets.
  • Develop close working relationships with the EMEA BD & Marketing Managers, working collaboratively to ensure that clients and contacts lists are fit for purpose and regularly updated within the CRM system.
  • Develop close working relationships with the PMDs and Partners within EMEA building up a deep and thorough understanding of the industries/services to provide support to BD & Marketing Managers as they create annual BD & marketing plans that support business growth.
  • Provide regular analysis and updates of the shape of the client base by EMEA ISL, identifying where there is opportunity for collaboration across ISLs to bring the whole firm to the client.
  • Support the EMEA BD & Marketing Managers as they create individual client plans for an agreed list of target key accounts (from existing and new clients), a key component of which will be a focus on extension and expansion activity, ensuring that all relevant services are promoted to meet the clients’ needs.
  • Work with the Head of EMEA Marketing & BD, EMEA BD Director and other ISL BD professionals to ensure that plans are aligned across ISLs and geographies to ensure a ‘one firm’ approach to clients and to business development activities.
  • Collaborate with BD, Marketing, BIC and Finance colleagues to deliver appropriate and timely management information to both inform decision-making and set and measure KPIs across client accounts and the portfolio as a whole.

Senior Advisor Program

  • Work with the EMEA BD Director to refine and update the role(s) of Senior Advisors for the EMEA business, taking account of differing needs geographically and by industry.
  • Create a program of regular communication to Senior Advisors, to include updated client case studies, pitch wins and analysis, thought leadership, and events.
  • Support the EMEA BD Director to create a compelling program for the annual Senior Advisor Forum.
  • Work with the EMEA ISL BD & Marketing managers and the country marketing teams to identify key events and thought leadership for Senior Advisors can play a strategic role.

Business Leaders’ Dinners Series

  • Work with the EMEA BD Director, EMEA marketing colleagues and EMEA events team to identify key C-suite targets and clients to build relationships and attend the exclusive Business Leaders/”Salon” Dinners program
  • Take an active role in “joining dots” with Senior Advisors and C-suite contacts and PMDs, to ensure that relationships are nurtured and followed up

Other responsibilities

  • As the needs of the business expand and change, innovate new BD and client programs to support business growth.
  • Take a lead role, working with Marketing & BD colleagues in the Business Intelligence Centre (BIC) team, to support the creation of client stories and case studies.
  • Be an active member of the EMEA Marketing & BD team helping to promote cross-ISL, cross-country collaboration.

Key stakeholders: Head of EMEA Marketing & BD; Commercial Program Lead (US); CRM leads; PMDs and partners; EMEA ISL BD & Marketing team

Other stakeholders: EMEA country marketing teams, EMEA BIC teams; global digital, communications and corporate marketing teams

What you’ll need 

  • 5+ years of B2B business development/client program experience – preferably in a professional services environment 
  • Commercially astute with a strong track record in supporting client-facing teams to grow revenue through expanding existing clients and gaining new accounts
  • Experience of working in a multi-country matrix environment
  • Strong leader who is committed to ‘trusted adviser’ status
  • Ability to speak with confidence and influence change both internally with senior leaders and externally with third party partners
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Suite 
  • Proactive in generating high quality strategic ideas to help the firm grow
  • Strategic and analytical thinker, able to set and measure the success of programs across country, industries and service lines
  • Robust and resilient – able to navigate relationships in a high-performance environment
  • Comfortable providing recommendations and advising with confidence to senior level stakeholders even when there is ambiguity involved
  • Results orientated – ensure every activity has a commercial goal or objective that guides the planning and execution of activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to communicate in French/German is advantageous
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment.
