Embedded Risk Associate Director

- DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).
The Impact you will have in this role:
As an Embedded Risk Manager (IC Role), you will strengthen the first line of defense by embedding risk-aware and AI-enabled decision-making into business operations. You will proactively challenge and guide product and business teams in identifying, assessing, responding to, and monitoring risks.
This role emphasizes forward-looking risk management, leveraging data, automation, and emerging technologies (including AI/ML insights) to enhance risk visibility and control effectiveness.
You will play a key role in ensuring adherence to:
- Control Testing Frameworks
- Issue Management lifecycle
- Regulatory and audit expectations
You will partner with leadership to design sustainable, technology-enabled risk mitigation strategies.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Incident & Risk Management
- Support incident management with timely notifications to Compliance and leadership
- Conduct root cause analysis using structured and data-driven approaches
- Identify patterns and recommend predictive/preventive controls leveraging AI insights where possible
- Document lessons learned and drive sustainable remediation
Issue & Action Plan Governance
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle of issues and action plans (MSIs)
- Ensure remediation actions are effective, measurable, and sustainable
- Review and challenge issue quality before Archer submission
- Ensure alignment with internal risk frameworks and regulatory expectations
Risk Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor monthly issues & actions reports and identify gaps in self-identified vs audit-detected issues
- Build and leverage data-driven dashboards and insights for proactive risk identification
- Assist in preparing high-quality board and executive risk materials
Sustainability & Control Effectiveness
- Execute annual sustainability reviews for internal and external action plans
- Validate long-term effectiveness of controls and remediation efforts
- Apply continuous improvement and AI-supported analytics to strengthen governance
Risk Culture & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders
- Challenge assumptions and drive a strong risk-aware culture
- Establish escalation protocols for at-risk or delayed remediation items

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
Core Expertise
- Strong experience in Risk Management & Incident Management
- Proven ability in stakeholder management and influencing senior leadership
- Experience with issue lifecycle management, audits, and control frameworks
AI & Digital Mindset (Key Differentiator)
- Strong inclination toward AI-driven risk insights, automation, and data-led decision-making
- Ability to leverage data for trend analysis, predictive risk identification, and reporting optimization
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in financial services risk landscape
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Exposure to Tokenization and digital asset ecosystems
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, or reporting enhancements
- Understanding of DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) and regulatory expectations
