Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) offers the industry's most comprehensive suite of treasury and trade solutions including cash management, payments, receivables, liquidity management and investment services, working capital solutions, commercial card programs, trade finance and services. Citi’s Commercial Cards is a marquis product line within TTS and supports 25,000+ cards and 6 million card holders in over 100 countries. As a leading global commercial card issuer Citi provides Travel, Purchase and Virtual cards solutions to institutional clients, including large and middle-market corporations, financial institutions, and public sector entities. We are recognised as a global market leader with the largest proprietary network in the industry supported by unrivalled card acceptance.

Driving growth of sales within the eCommerce space is a strategic priority for the global Commercial Cards business. The newly formed Global eCommerce Sales team for Commercial Cards is a strategic arm of the broader Citi Global Commercial Cards Product Sales organisation. This new team functions as skilled specialists for strategic Commercial Card eCommerce opportunities across all TTS client segments.

What you’ll do:

Specifically, the successful candidate will drive origination, penetration of new flows, solutioning complex multi-regional deals, increasing wallet share via non-traditional buying centres, and instilling a strong partnership with all the relevant broader banking teams. The role reports directly to the Global eCommerce Cards Sales Head with matrix reporting to Commercial Card Sales lead for UK, Europe, and Middle East & Africa Clusters.

  • Drive Strategic Growth: Lead the growth and origination of new eCommerce Commercial Cards business for 3 geographic clusters - UK, Europe, and Middle East & Africa.
  • Expand B2B Travel Segment: Focus on growing the B2B travel intermediary’s wallet share by new acquisition commercialisation of Citi’s product suite
  • Originate High-impact flows : Proactively drive initiatives to capture new flows within the eCommerce segment.
  • Thought Leadership:  Act as a thought leader in the Ecommerce payment space, providing market insights relating to commercial cards.
  • Collaborative Deal Execution:  Work closely with TTS Sales and Banking partners to drive deal origination and sales support.
  • Focus on Revenue Realization: Actively manage the revenue ramp of won deals and ensure a positive client experience throughout implementation.
  • Data Driven Strategy Development: Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, inform client target strategies, and optimise go-to-market initiatives.
  • Achieve Sales targets: Meet annual win and revenue targets.

What we’ll need from you:

The incumbent will have an in-depth knowledge of existing and emerging competition and trends within the payments and eCommerce space to meaningfully contribute to achievement of our business objectives. This position will require a skilled sales strategist with the ability to translate business strategy into functional and expedient sales practices and strategies that exponentially accelerate growth.

This role requires broad knowledge and understanding of core systems, technology, and products, along with a strong understanding of sales disciplines.  The role will be responsible for thought leadership across the Commercial Cards eCommerce space- both internally and externally.

  • Expert knowledge of commercial card products, industry, and targeted eCommerce clients.
  • Proven top performer in corporate Sales (Large corporates or Middle market clients) in the banking / finance sector.
  • Experience in B2B travel intermediary industry a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written executive communication skills.
  • Skilled sales professional with mastery of consultative selling, negotiation, and core sales disciplines.
  • Ability to think creatively to drive innovative solutions for clients.
  • Experience and comfort operating in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with internal partners across various functions / regions.
  • Strategic Project Management –Strong eye for detail, commitment to quality and leadership managing/coordinating multiple work streams to completion.
  • Significant industry sales experience, preferably in the large/middle market sector.
  • University Degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel 50%.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal internally and externally with clients at senior level.
  • Ability to work in a global matrix environment.
