The Opportunity

As a Sales Manager, you are the primary link between Kargo and the Marketplace. Advertisers have complicated challenges and objectives. Kargo has an array of proven products that address them. In this sales role, you’ll be tasked with building new relationships with brands and agencies in a rapidly growing territory. Partnering with your manager, you will identify opportunities for revenue growth and attack them with strategic thinking, consultative selling, and relationship building.  You’ll manage the full sales cycle (heavy prospecting to pitch to close to renewal) for an assigned territory.

The Daily To-Do

  • Evangelizes Kargo as a consultative partner providing world-class customer service and developing strategic partnerships. Represents Kargo’s values and philosophy to the world
  • Creates new partnerships with both brand direct and untapped agencies
  • Develops corporate contacts and cultivates relationships at all levels that enhance Kargo's position
  • Works to deeply understand the customer’s business, challenges, and goals
  • Hits revenue goals by presenting new and existing products, preparing appropriate proposals, closing the sale, and growing the relationship long-term
  • Exhibits a HUNTER mentality – a desire for new business and closing deals
  • Maintains complete and precise documentation in SalesForce of all activity, including forward-looking forecasts
  • Maintains broad knowledge of company products and their capabilities as well as the strengths/ weaknesses of competitive products
  • Cycle market response back to the company, primarily the product organization, to help inform our roadmap and positioning
  • Interface with Kargo's creative, design, and yield teams to develop sound, compelling forward-thinking ideas and proposals
  • Works very closely with Account Management and support teams to service, maintain, renew, and up-sell current clients

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience in AdTech with a solid knowledge of programmatic
  • Enthusiastic about sales/marketing, and the ability to adjust quickly to changing demands or strategies
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a highly motivated team player
  • Nice to have: 3+ years of marketing or sales experience within the advertising industry
  • Nice to have: Possesses some industry relationships, with a drive to build and grow a network
  • PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills are a must. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
