About the Role

The Earned Media Analyst helps connect SEO/GEO performance, content distribution signals, and client outcomes into clear strategic recommendations. This client-facing role is for someone who is both analytical and a translator: a person who can look at messy data, identify the strongest story, and communicate it clearly to internal teams and clients. This person will support queue work and day-to-day client needs, while also playing an important role in performance analysis, escalations, and high-stakes strategic thinking.

This is not a pure reporting role. We are looking for someone who can apply judgment, spot patterns, test ideas, and bring conviction to their recommendations.

About Stacker

Stacker is revolutionizing the traditional newswire business model and the ways in which brand newsrooms and publishers connect. Our platform helps over 100 content contributors - brands, nonprofit newsrooms, and others - extend the reach of their content by seamlessly integrating with a network of thousands of trusted news publishers.

Stacker helps brands get their stories in front of more readers by syndicating content across a large-scale publisher network, enabling organizations to expand the reach and impact of their earned and owned media.

As a bootstrapped, fast-growing company, we're resourceful, innovative, and committed to building an inclusive, equitable culture. We are a remote-first team that values ownership, integrity, and collaboration—offering flexible schedules, unlimited vacation, an employee equity program, and full health & dental coverage. We champion long-term impact over short-term gains and believe in empowering our team with autonomy and opportunities for career growth.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze SEO/GEO, content, citation, and distribution performance to identify meaningful trends, issues, and opportunities.

  • Turn data into clear recommendations and narratives for clients and internal teams.

  • Provide performance insights, reporting, and strategic analysis to Client Success and other client-facing teams.

  • Help evaluate multiple possible explanations for performance shifts and determine the strongest story to tell.

  • Bring discernment and analytical thinking to escalated or high-priority client situations.

  • Support queue work and other Value Team needs as priorities shift.

  • Work closely with Client Success, Editorial, Product, Marketing, and Distribution.

  • Help improve internal frameworks, workflows, and how Stacker talks about "value."

  • Build or improve AI-assisted workflows that make analysis more efficient and scalable.

About You

You are analytically sharp, strategically curious, and comfortable working in ambiguity. You know how to look at data, form a point of view, and explain it clearly. You do not need to be the most senior person in the room, but you should be able to bring confidence, discernment, and thoughtful recommendations to the work.

You'll thrive in this role if you have a strong grasp of SEO performance and content analytics, can identify patterns and insights without needing everything to be perfectly clean, and are comfortable supporting both day-to-day execution and higher-stakes client analysis. You can communicate technical or nuanced findings in plain language, and you enjoy cross-functional work and fast-moving environments.

What You'll Bring

  • 3–5 years in SEO, organic growth, data science, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of SEO and how content performs in publisher / earned media environments.

  • GEO / AI search familiarity.

  • Comfort working with performance data and drawing conclusions from it.

  • Ability to translate complex findings into clear, useful recommendations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good judgment, curiosity, and a bias toward problem-solving.

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with content distribution, digital PR, or earned media measurement.

  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.

  • Experience building dashboards, pulling insights from multiple sources, or using AI tools to accelerate analysis.

  • Startup or agency experience.
