The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to lead the delivery of complex, strategic initiatives across the organisation. You will coordinate multiple interconnected projects, ensuring outcomes align with organisational priorities and deliver sustainable value, on time and to budget.
This role requires strong leadership, governance and stakeholder engagement, working collaboratively across functions to manage dependencies, mitigate risk and embed lasting change.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Requirements
Key responsibilities
- Lead the governance and delivery of major programmes and portfolios of work, ensuring clear outcomes and benefits realisation
- Define scope, plans and integrated deliverables across multiple projects and workstreams
- Build and execute effective stakeholder engagement strategies, including senior and executive audiences
- Manage programme financials, resources, risks, issues and dependencies, with clear reporting and recovery planning where needed
- Lead and develop high‑performing project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and innovation
- Embed structured change management to ensure adoption and long‑term value realisation
Skills & experience required
- Extensive experience leading complex programmes or large‑scale projects in a matrix environment
- Proven expertise in programme governance, executive‑level reporting and decision‑making frameworks
- Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting and benefits tracking
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence influencing and challenging senior leaders
- Advanced competence in programme and project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet, Planner, Jira) and financial reporting tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
- Recognised programme or project management qualification good to have (e.g. MSP, PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent) and degree‑level education
