Role overview

This role reports into the UK Head of Marketing, leading on DUAL’s UK communications, a key part of driving the business forward. To achieve this, you’ll be collaborating with colleagues across DUAL to deliver engaging internal and external communications. As Corporate Communications Manager, you will be part of a friendly marketing team, working closely with stakeholders at all levels across the business.

It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator with excellent creative and copywriting skills. You will have experience of implementing communications strategy and delivering on this across a range of internal and external channels.

Role responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of Marketing to develop a detailed communications plan in line with the UK marketing and business strategies, and following this plan through to delivery, with regular and visible activity.
  • Drive internal and external profile building for our ExCo and MDs.
  • We can confidently say that no two days are the same in this role, so the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Keep up to date with the latest communications trends, implementing them where relevant.
  • Managing relationships with internal and external design partners.
  • Report on the performance of digital channels/activities so we can use the data to inform future activities and report on campaign effectiveness to the business
  • Contribute to, and work with the wider communications teams to develop, manage and implement content as required
  • Act, and be recognised as a trusted communications adviser for internal stakeholders
  • We are a fairly small team, so you’ll be operating at both a strategic and tactical delivery level.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of various business areas within the DUAL to tailor communication strategies accordingly. 
  • Provide support for the global rebranding initiative as necessary, contributing insights and efforts towards its success. 
  • Work closely with the global corporate communications team, as well as with our group PR agency.

Key requirements

  • Experience and understanding of leading on PR activity – contacts in the insurance press would be desirable.
  • Excellent copywriting skills, with the ability to tailor your content to meet audience needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a good grasp of grammar and strong proof reading skills
  • Active listening and strong influencing and presenting skills
  • Good creative and lateral thinking, combined with imaginative problem-solving skills. We will give you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, so you will be someone who is comfortable using your initiative when needed
  • Highly organised and capable of prioritising multiple projects
  • Experience of working across a variety of communications channels
  • An understanding of brand and tone of voice, and their importance in our group communications
  • Experience in insurance or financial services is beneficial but not essential.
  • Filming and video editing skills would be beneficial but not essential.
