Title and Summary
Director Switch Technology Coordination (Europe)
Overview• Leads execution of Mastercard's European technology modernization strategy, including sovereignty requirements.• Bridges Technology, Network Products, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to drive regional deployment, operational excellence, and a clear external value narrative.• Operates as a key contributor within the Switch Technology Coordination function; sound judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and strong stakeholder management across technology, product, and regulatory environments are required.
The Role• Technology Strategy & Deployment Execution• Coordinate with Mastercard Technologies (MCT) to deploy and stabilize Transaction Stream across Europe.• Maintain strong knowledge of Transaction Stream architecture, operations, and resiliency to anticipate and mitigate risks.• Resolve regional deployment issues by aligning technology, product, and market teams.• Product & Capability Enablement• Partner with Network Products to develop, prioritize, and roll out Transaction Stream capabilities aligned to European needs.• Shape roadmaps by weighing customer value, regulatory requirements, cost, delivery complexity, and scalability.• Value Narrative & Decision Support• Contribute to a fact-based value narrative for Transaction Stream, translating capabilities into customer, regulatory, and business outcomes.• Prepare clear, decision-ready analyses and materials to support governance, alignment, and implementation discussions.• Customer & Market Engagement• Partner with Switch Sales and market-facing teams to ensure effective two-way customer communication.• Support go-to-market for new capabilities, including pilots and phased rollouts.• Regulatory & Compliance Coordination• Serve as the regional counterpart to Regulatory, Public Policy, and Separation Compliance teams.• Coordinate engagement with regulators and translate expectations into clear deployment and operational requirements.• Leadership & Organizational Accountability• Support the development of the Switch Technology Coordination function in Europe by helping define effective cross-functional ways of working.• Help embed a scalable operating model that supports continuity, delivery discipline, and effective coordination across teams.• Apply sound judgment and fact-based recommendations in complex, matrixed environments.
All About You• Significant experience in payments or complex technology platforms; network and regulated-environment experience preferred.• Demonstrated ability to operate between Technology and Product, translating complexity into business and regulatory outcomes.• Ability to influence and coordinate across ambiguous, matrixed, multi-stakeholder environments.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and fact-based decision-making skills.• Strong communication skills, including the ability to create clear, senior-stakeholder-ready narratives and visual materials.• Proven stakeholder management and collaboration across functions, geographies, and levels.• Experience engaging regulators or sovereignty-related initiatives and translating requirements into delivery actions.• Track record supporting or coordinating large-scale platform deployments and operational readiness.
