Job Description

Role Overview:

Enterprise Risk Analytics at Wise is a critical capability. As we scale, the requirements for data-driven risk management are evolving. We need a talented Analytics Director to build and own our measurement frameworks, infrastructure, and reporting, ensuring audit-ready reporting and shared 1st/2nd line data governance. This role is highly strategic, focused on enabling the business to measure and manage risk across the full spectrum of major fintech risk domains.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the strategy and execution of the Enterprise Risk Analytics roadmap while coaching a high-performing team.

  • Standardise risk metric calculation logic, KRIs/KPIs, and attribution logic while implementing sign-off processes to ensure data integrity.

  • Partner with Data/Engineering to align instrumentation and data models with risk monitoring needs, ensuring reliable pipelines with clear data lineage.

  • Drive insight-to-action loops, quantifying trade-offs between risk reduction, customer impact, and cost.

  • Establish shared governance cadences (metric councils, steering groups) and foster 1st/2nd line collaboration to prevent drift across lines of defence.

  • Provide analytics leadership for Financial, Fincrime, Ops, Resilience, and Reg stakeholders.

Who you are:

  • Proven analytics leadership in a scaled fintech, financial services, or regulated technology environment (3-7 years management experience).

  • Familiarity with control frameworks and LoD models, and how analytics supports assurance and oversight.

  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-domain measurement and reporting, including governance and audit/evidence expectations.

  • Strong stakeholder leadership: able to align and deliver through complex, matrixed organisations—especially across 1st and 2nd line.

  • Experience with risk quantification approaches (scenario drivers, stress-style thinking, trade-off modelling).

  • Track record building durable analytics foundations (pipelines, metric layers, monitoring/quality controls, operating rhythms).

  • High bar for metric integrity, clarity of narrative, and decision-making discipline.

Desirable:

  • Experience with operational resilience and/or technology reliability analytics (incidents, availability, recovery metrics).

Some important stuff we would like you to know:

To meet our regulatory obligations as a licensed financial services company, Wise needs to conduct background checks on all new hires, which in the Finance team includes Criminal and Credit checks. Please discuss with the Recruiter if you have any concerns regarding this process.

What do we offer:

  • Salary: £135K - £190K.

  • Company Restricted Stock Units.

  • Numerous great benefits in our London office.

Key benefits:

  • Hybrid working.

  • Paid annual holiday, sick days, parental leave and other leave opportunities.

  • 6 weeks of paid sabbatical after 4 years at Wise on top of annual leave.
