The Role
We are seeking a design leader to serve as Director, Product Experience and Design for our Open Finance products and services. In close partnership with the VP, CX&D, the role will lead a team of designers and researchers building cutting-edge experiences and ensuring that whether used by consumers, small businesses, developers or our partners, our experiences are intuitive, inclusive and impactful. You will shape how users interact with Mastercard's Open Finance platform to improve access and management of financial data through trusted user journeys.
This leader will also champion the integration of advanced research methodologies and AI-driven insights and tools to continuously optimize user experiences across all touchpoints. This role will closely partner with Product and Engineering teams across Americas and APEMEA regions.
In this role you will:
• Partner with the VP to continuously refine a north star vision for the broader set of Open Finance experiences and journeys• Optimize the client onboarding journey: from discover, evaluate, integrate, onboard, through to optimize• Own and evolve the Open Finance global design system with Product and Engineering• Use qualitative insight and product analytics (conversion, drop off, success rates) to guide prioritization• Coach and grow our design team• Partner with Product Management to align roadmaps to outcome metrics• Embed accessibility and inclusive design (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) alignment) into tools, patterns, and reviews• Drive consistency across marketing surfaces, documentation, user interface, and post integration touch points• Place quality at the center of our design approaches and practices• Implement our Experience Design Strategy and Experience Principles in our process and products• Prepare our platforms for agent-mediated usage
All About You
• Depth in interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, content clarity• Experience building and scaling design systems with Product and Engineering• Deep experience in digital product design, across a range of products, channels, and capabilities• Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of Customer Experience Design Managers and Senior Designers, driving strategic outcomes, fostering collaboration, and building design capabilities through continuous up-skilling• Data-driven with an ability to transform research, analytics, and experimentation into design decisions• Ability to use product analytics for funnel analysis and insight synthesis• Clear written communication for strategy documents, design briefs, executive updates• Understanding of B2B2C business models, Open Finance, APIs, developer ecosystems, and financial services• Proven track record of delivering elegant, scalable, and user-centric digital experiences• Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments• Passion for innovation, inclusion, and ethical design
