The Challenge:

The HR Department at T2, an industry leader in interactive entertainment, is looking for a dynamic, proven and established team player to lead and manage the Payroll team, while overseeing the UK and other regions in EMEA. This position sits within the HR Operations team and is a key contributor to the success of the overall HR Strategy.

What You’ll Take On:

  • Provide leadership, strategic planning, tactical direction and day-to-day management and governance of the EMEA payroll function;
  • Direct and coordinate the implementation and administration of payroll policies, procedures and regulations and the approval of the EMEA payroll calendars and processing schedules;
  • Maintain standard operation and statutory procedures with respect to audit, privacy, tax reporting and controls;
  • Work closely with Corporate Finance and Internal Audit teams to ensure all financial controls and reporting are correct and ensures that payroll solutions developed align with the corporation’s overall business strategy;
  • Ensure accurate and timely support of the month and year-end finance closing process.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting around payroll accounting;
  • Ensure accurate year-end and quarterly processes for earnings and tax statements/filings;
  • Lead special projects and facilitate across all impacted functions;
  • Manage statutory and tax requirement changes;
  • Manage vendor relationships;
  • Manage and mentor the Payroll team, overseeing their development and training;
  • Provide strategic oversight and stay abreast of industry payroll trends and regulatory developments. Coordinate with Legal and external institutes to advise company of relevant trends/regulations that may affect payroll policies/practices;
  • Collaborate regularly with HR Business Partners and Technology team to assist with strategic process improvement implementations;
  • Oversee and manage payroll operation’s team, ensuring all activities are completed within required timeline;
  • Research and implement changes to the payroll configuration in Workday as a result of the implementation of any new company programs and/or processes;
  • Assess existing processes for areas for improvement and better efficiency; and
  • Lead others in identifying and resolving complex problems, taking a broad perspective to identify strategic solutions.

What You Bring:

  • Degree in HR or related area preferred and 10+ years of progressively responsible work experience within a dynamic payroll team, with at least 7+ years in a supervisory capacity;
  • People management oriented with the capability communicate effectively with direct reports, cross functional peers and upper management;
  • Payroll certification a plus;
  • 10+ years of experience with a major payroll solution, i.e., Workday, PeopleSoft, ADP or an enterprise-scale payroll system, with a special emphasis in Workday experience preferred;
  • 10+ years experience overseeing a complex, large-volume multi-country payroll function;
  • Proven leader with a demonstrated ability to establish and achieve strategic goals and develop team;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Experience with payroll tax reporting/filing, including taxation of foreign nationals, non-resident aliens and expatriates;
  • Strong expertise in HR/Payroll databases and processes, data interfaces, and query/data source tools;
  • Must possess a high standard for customer service with excellent consulting, interpersonal, follow-up, communication and time management skills;
  • Must be ready and willing to take initiative and follow through on assignments in a fast-paced and demanding environment;
  • Deadline and results driven;
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Understanding of administration of payroll taxes, NI, pension schemes, equity and year end obligations;
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-disciplined and highly motivated; and
  • Project a professional image, a positive outlook, a discreet work manner and possess a high level of confidentiality.
