Role Summary and Impact

As a Director on the Open UK Mobilization Team, you will be a senior, hands-on leader responsible for executing end-to-end technology deployments for our most strategic and complex clients. You will act as a senior peer to client and agency leadership, taking full ownership of 3-month mobilization projects designed to bridge the gap between the promise of WPP Open and the client's reality. Your role is to be the trusted expert leading a client through the entire journey, from initial discovery to final handover.

You will be a primary author of our "client-specific implementation playbooks," using your direct experience to define best practices and create scalable processes. As a senior member of the team, you will also be responsible for mentoring Managers, ensuring the quality of all deployment activities, and acting as a key subject matter expert on the practical application and optimization of the WPP Open platform.

The Mobilization Process As the lead on a client deployment, you will be responsible for personally guiding the client through our 5-stage mobilization process. You will lead:

  1. Understanding Current State: Performing the initial discovery to document the client's current workflows, data sources, and team structures.
  2. Project Initiation: Setting clear goals with the client, performing a detailed "Gap Analysis" on their products, processes, and skillsets, and defining the project scope.
  3. Designing Success: Leading the "Process & Tool Use Mapping" to design the future-state operating model and setting best-practice use of the platform for that specific client.
  4. Delivering Change: Managing the technical setup of the WPP Open instance, creating process materials, and overseeing the delivery of training by SMEs.
  5. Transition to BAU: Formally establishing ownership within the client team for each area of the plan and ensuring a successful handover.

Skills and Experience

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in technology consulting, client service, or a senior operational role within a media agency.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-month projects involving technology implementation, process re-engineering, and change management.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in marketing technology platforms (e.g., planning tools, campaign management systems, analytics dashboards).
  • Proven experience in a client-facing role, with a talent for managing senior stakeholders and navigating complex organizational dynamics.

Key Skills:

  • Consultative Problem-Solver: The ability to diagnose complex client challenges across people, process, and technology, and design effective, actionable solutions.
  • Process & Change Expert: A talent for creating clear, documented processes, mapping future-state workflows, and managing the human side of technological change.
  • Exceptional Client Acumen: The ability to quickly build trust and rapport with senior clients, understand their business needs, and guide them through a structured change program.
  • Operational Leader: The ability to own and execute a detailed project plan from start to finish, ensuring all milestones are met and the desired outcomes are achieved.
