As a Government Relations Director at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the company's government relations strategy. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advocate for Honeywell's interests. You will monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze their impact on the company, and develop strategies to address potential challenges and opportunities.

You will report directly to our Director Government Relations and you’ll work out of our London location on a Hybrid work schedule.

The Director of Government Relations will have a significant impact on Honeywell's ability to navigate the complex landscape of government policies and regulations. By building and maintaining relationships with government officials and policymakers, this role will influence the development of policies that align with Honeywell's business objectives. Overall, the Director of Government Relations will have a direct impact on Honeywell's reputation, business opportunities, and ability to drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and advancement of legislative and regulatory proposals
  • Identify, analyze, and report to the Company business, legislative and regulatory issues that could potentially impact the business and recommend and manage a course of action
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulators, elected officials, civil servants, and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and oversee the production of high-quality written recommendations, briefings, publications, presentations, and other collateral that communicate complex messages clearly and effectively to audiences, with a focus on government stakeholders
  • Coordinate strategy with consultants and trade association representatives to ensure active engagement on areas of interest to Honeywell and that all are aligned in support of our business strategies
  • Organize and drive communication with Honeywell senior leadership, including meetings, briefings, and campaign reviews
  • Participate, serve, and assume leadership positions on industry-related associations, steering committees, and networking organizations to protect and promote the Company interests
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 8 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of government processes, policies, and regulations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the Automation industry and regulatory landscape
  • Experience in a corporate government relations role
