Job Description
Role Purpose
The Director of Finance Business Partnering will be responsible for providing financial insight and support for the budgeting and control of the Exco Costs across Corporate, Operations and Product & Technology of c. £500m.
The Director of Finance Business Partnering will work alongside Senior Leadership with their team of Business Partners and analysts to ensure leadership understand their cost base and provide accurate budgeting, forecasting and clear and transparent actual reporting to each Exco member and their Leadership teams for every area of cost within their control. They will be a true strategic business partner providing robust financial process and challenge alongside world class collaboration to help Entain deliver on their Operating & Capital cost budgets and ensure insightful financial data is used to determine investment decision making.
The Director of Finance Business Partnering reports into the Group Finance Director Corporate.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality, timely financial insights to Exco members and their senior leadership teams, enabling cost control, business growth, financial performance improvements, and effective decision-making.
- Leading financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical processes to support informed business strategies across Corporate, Operations and Product & Technology
- Collaborating with all business functions, proactively challenging and advising key stakeholders on commercial investment decisions.
- Modelling, reporting, and analyzing strategic investment opportunities to identify potential avenues for expansion.
- Maximizing commercial value by mitigating financial risks, providing guidance on contract negotiations, and supporting renewals.
- Developing reporting processes to ensure transparency, operational efficiency, and performance excellence.
- Reviewing and appraising business investment initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with targeted financial outcomes and thoroughly monitored for success.
- Production of monthly performance pack for each Exco member which details and analyses financial performance by LT member
- Contributing to ad-hoc financial projects for the group as and when required as part of the overall finance function
- The ability to understand and balance commercial reality with accounting requirements to optimize the outcome for the business
- Work collaboratively with other group finance functions such as tax, FP&A, internal audit and financial control to ensure alignment and coherence with group policies and procedures
- Be resilient and confident in your ability to deliver and make decisions and be able to demonstrate that confidence across a wide and senior group of internal stakeholders
- Be an inspirational leader with the ability to build a high performing Business Partnering Function with clear vision and direction across multiple locations
Qualifications
Specialist skills & Experience Required:
- Qualified accountant with at least 5 years post qualification experience at senior management level ideally within a complex global business
- Proven experience in financial management, with a strong background working alongside senior leadership/senior stakeholders
- Analytical and commercial mindset with the ability to support sound commercial decision-making.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to manage key internal relationships.
- Expertise in driving business and profit growth, with a track record of successful business partnering at senior levels.
- Proficiency in financial modelling & Excel
- Solid understanding of FP&A
- High standards of personal integrity, with a proactive approach to improving systems, processes, and reporting
