Overview
The Director, Finance Business Partner is a key finance leader supporting Product, Technology, and AI organizations.
This role partners closely with business leaders to drive financial planning, investment discipline, and operational execution-ensuring alignment between product strategy, technology investments, and financial outcomes. The role plays a critical part in translating strategy into actionable plans, managing cost structures, and enabling efficient product and platform growth.Role & Responsibilities• Business Partnership & Strategy Execution
o Partner with Product, AI and Technology leadership to translate strategic priorities into financial plans and execution roadmaps
o Support decision-making across product development, platform investments, and resource allocation• Financial Planning & Forecasting
o Lead financial planning processes (annual budget, quarterly forecasts, strategic planning)
o Ensure alignment between product roadmaps, technology initiatives, and financial commitments• Technology & Engineering Expense Management
o Provide visibility into engineering, platform, and infrastructure cost drivers
o Support expense management, tracking, and optimization across technology investments
o Drive financial discipline while enabling innovation and delivery• Investment Analysis & Governance
o Support evaluation and prioritization of product and technology investments
o Develop and review business cases to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and return expectations• Product Portfolio Support
o Partner with Product teams to manage financial performance across product portfolios
o Provide insights into cost-to-build, cost-to-serve, and investment trade-offs• Performance Insights & Analytics
o Define and track key metrics related to spend, efficiency, utilization, and product performance
o Deliver actionable insights to improve financial and operational outcomes• Cross-Functional Execution
o Partner across various business units to ensure delivery against plans

o Prepare clear, concise financial updates and insights for leadership

o Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative finance teamAll About You• Strong experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or investment analysis• Experience supporting Product, Engineering, or Technology organizations• Solid understanding of technology cost structures and product development cycles• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex data• Effective communicator with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environmentExperience & Education• 7-10+ years of experience in finance, strategy, or related roles• Experience in technology, fintech, or services environments preferred• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

O'Fallon, Missouri: $142,000 - $234,000 USD
Miami, Florida: $142,000 - $234,000 USD
New York City, New York: $170,000 - $281,000 USD
Purchase, New York: $163,000 - $269,000 USD
