Senior Engineering Manager (Data Platform)

As our next Senior Engineering Manager , you’ll play a key role in helping us build the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace. From shaping the strategy and platform that powers our AI era to building trusted data products that drive smarter customer journeys, your work will help millions of homeowners find the right tradesperson for the job - fast, fair, and without the faff

Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

• Delivering a world-class Data & AI strategy that aligns our platform evolution with ambitious company growth goals.

• Leading and scaling high-performing Data Engineering teams, establishing the rhythms and discipline needed for elite delivery and accountability.

• Owning the data platform and architecture, ensuring our AWS-based foundations are robust, secure, and ready for the next stage of our growth.

• Building the foundations for AI in production, including reusable data products, reliable pipelines, and governed access patterns.

• Partnering with senior leaders across Product, Tech, and Commercial to unlock opportunities in machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics.

• Driving a culture of data-led decision-making, ensuring every data initiative is connected to real-world customer and commercial outcomes.

• Deep experience leading data organisations, specifically scaling data engineering teams and modern platforms in fast-paced digital businesses.

• A collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude with the technical depth to guide strategic architecture decisions and build credibility with engineers.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data roadmaps into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders.

• Confidence with modern data stacks (AWS focus), data governance, and the infrastructure required to run AI and ML at scale.
