The Role

Zeta is looking for a Director, Customer Marketing to build and lead our customer marketing function within Corporate Marketing.

This role will shape how customer stories, advocacy, and proof points show up across the business — from brand storytelling and product launches to campaigns, executive visibility, sales enablement, and customer growth.

You know how to turn customer success into clear proof of Zeta’s impact. You can identify the right customer voices, build trusted relationships with executives, and develop stories and advocacy programs that support business priorities and go-to-market goals.

You’re also a strong storyteller and writer, comfortable interviewing customers and turning complex products, strategies, and outcomes into clear, compelling narratives across web, campaigns, events, PR, executive communications, and sales channels.

You thrive in highly cross-functional environments and are comfortable partnering with Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Growth Marketing, and Communications teams to bring customer stories and advocacy programs to life.

This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of Brand, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success.

This is a hybrid role based out of our NYC office.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Zeta’s customer marketing function, shaping how customer stories, advocacy, and proof points show up across the business

  • Own and manage a pipeline of customer stories aligned to company priorities, product launches, campaigns, and go-to-market motions

  • Collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Communications, and Customer Success to amplify customer stories and create a more consistent customer experience across emails, webinars, events, and other customer communications

  • Help shape how customer marketing supports the full customer lifecycle — from awareness and pipeline growth to retention and advocacy

  • Continuously raise the bar for storytelling quality and how Zeta shows up in the market

  • Support the evolution of customer advocacy and engagement programs, including references, testimonials, customer councils, beta programs, webinars, and executive engagement initiatives

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in customer marketing, product marketing, content, or related B2B marketing roles

  • Strong storytelling and writing skills, with the ability to turn complex customer interviews into clear, compelling stories

  • Experience working directly with customers and managing approvals with professionalism and attention to detail

  • Strong understanding of how customer marketing supports brand, pipeline growth, customer engagement, and advocacy

  • Ability to quickly learn new products, technologies, and customer use cases

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and Marketing teams

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities at once

  • Proactive, curious, and customer-focused, with the ability to identify strong stories and advocacy opportunities

  • Experience in B2B SaaS, marketing technology, or enterprise technology environments preferred

What Success Looks Like

  • A consistent pipeline of high-quality customer stories tied to priority accounts and use cases

  • Stories that are actively used by Sales, Marketing, and PR to drive pipeline and credibility

  • Strong customer relationships that lead to repeat advocacy opportunities

  • Clear, differentiated narratives that prove Zeta’s impact in the market
