About The Role:

The Director, Brand Marketing & Programming reports to the SVP, Marketing and leads brand marketing and programming strategy & execution for the SEG-managed business in the Seaport neighborhood in Lower Manhattan — building strategy and directly owning tactical planning, execution and reporting for neighborhood-wide initiatives.

What You Will Do

  • Drive awareness, visitation and top-line revenue for owned & tenant businesses through a mix of always-on and initiative-specific messaging and programming — spanning earned media/PR, paid & digital marketing, community & tenant partnerships, neighborhood-wide events/campaigns and social media, including influencer partnerships.
  • Own agency relationships with the PR, Paid Media and Influencer Agencies of Record — guiding strategy and holding internal and external partners accountable for strong execution and continuous visibility.
  • Act as community development manager for the Seaport, building initiatives with local residential and commercial buildings, tourism stakeholders and community partners to drive neighborhood loyalty, awareness and revenue.
  • Plan and execute neighborhood-wide programming with strategic partners, community stakeholders and owned businesses, defining and achieving break-even programming objectives.
  • Build content and messaging strategies positioning the Seaport as a must-visit destination, supporting owned businesses, tenants, partners and initiatives to drive awareness, intent and conversion.
  • Oversee owned social media channels (resources, strategy and messaging) and establish influencer partnership strategies across owned businesses with external agencies.
  • Own budget accountability, including tracking marketing spend, maintaining the marketing invoice tracker, sharing monthly accruals on time, and reviewing monthly P&Ls with accounting and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting — including bi-weekly marketing department updates, monthly press recaps, quarterly campaign performance analysis and annual marketing performance.
  • Contribute to, and own a piece of, annual marketing strategy and budget planning, tying owned pieces of those strategies and budgets to business performance goals.

About You:

  • Experience with digital marketing, communications, events and/or community management preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in marketing & communications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience leading a team and cross-functional collaboration strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and strategic insight, proactive communication, problem solving, strong project management, prioritization and collaboration skills, and the ability to constantly evolve as a team player
  • Experience working with several unique disciplines and stakeholders (internal & external) including social media, paid & earned media, digital marketing, event production, strategic partnerships, community engagement, legal, accounting and IT
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices, new technologies and analytics/reporting to show KPIs driven by marketing initiatives
  • Strong critical thinking, with the ability to build tactical plans that execute against business objectives
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, able to juggle multiple deadlines at once
  • Proactive and flexible to meet the needs of a fast-paced environment
  • Expert in prioritization and agile working methodologies
