About us:

Historic Newspapers (historic-newspapers.com) specializes in bespoke, personalized books created from their private archive of over 2 million original newspapers. Since June 2025, both Historic Newspapers and its parent company, Wonderbly, have been owned by Penguin Random House. With HQ Office in London as well as Offices in SW Scotland, ‘HN’ looks to connect people with their passions through the books they produce.

Over the last 12 months, Historic-Newspapers has undergone transformational change with the launch of an entirely new look and feel to the brand, coupled with a re-platforming of our website to Shopify.  This exciting project has yielded incredible results, with 300% YoY growth to the business.  We are now looking to grow even further with the recruitment of an ambitious, talented and forward thinking Product Manager who can help elevate the HN brand to even greater heights.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with External Design Partner and internal HN Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to ensure a consistent, seamless user experience across all digital touchpoints.

  • Agile Delivery: Manage the product backlog, leading agile ceremonies and ensuring high-quality, timely releases of new functionality.

Who might suit this role?

This role is a cross between a technical product management and a commercial ecommerce management role. You will be working to create and ship digital product features, but always with a strong focus on commercial outcomes and mindful of wider trading and marketing plans.

By this we mean you might be a product manager with a few years under your belt but you want to start getting closer to the business side of the work … or, you might be an ecommerce manager with a good few years experience but you want to start getting closer to the tech side of the business.
