Developers in Test are key to the continued stability and delivery of our software. Candidates should be passionate about delivering high-quality software and committed to ensuring our clients have the best user experience possible. Testers at Trayport share an unrivaled passion for software testing and love nothing more than voraciously and persistently hunting down and investigating potential issues, helping to make our software the best it can be.

Our testers use a combination of test automation, technical testing, and exploratory testing to build quality into our software, working closely with the rest of their team and coaching others on how to write better software. For us, teamwork is everything. We listen to each other, adapt, evolve, and strive to innovate. We are making significant investments in our business, and we will invest in you.

Responsibilities
  • Automation & Coding: Automate test cases using the same coding languages and standards as the developers on your team. The majority of your day will focus on coding, keeping manual testing to an absolute minimum.

  • Test Creation & Optimization: Create new, fast, and reliable automated tests, investigate test failures, and drive automation efficiencies using modern tools and framework techniques.

  • AI Integration: Leverage AI-powered development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI assistants) to accelerate test script generation, optimize code quality, and streamline troubleshooting workflows.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Improve existing or construct brand-new Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Mentorship & Backlog Support: Mentor other QEs on automation best practices and proactively support automation backlog efforts.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Put on your detective hat to investigate bugs, performing deep root-cause analysis and diving straight into the source code when necessary.

  • Architecture & Collaboration: Participate in software architecture discussions, contribute to interactive whiteboard sessions, and collaborate on user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for product knowledge across the business, while regularly participating in knowledge-sharing sessions with the wider engineering team.

The Person
  • Technical Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with C#, including writing unit and integration tests and utilizing mocking frameworks.

  • Automation Frameworks: Strong background developing, maintaining, and scaling automated test frameworks, with at least 2+ years of focused experience in API testing.

  • Modern DevOps Tools: Experience working with Docker and a genuine passion for building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.

  • AI Tooling Literacy: Familiarity with or a strong interest in incorporating AI tools into the development and testing lifecycle to improve coding productivity and efficiency.

  • Core Knowledge: Solid understanding of testing concepts, methodologies, and processes, alongside a foundational grasp of web technologies (web services, application servers, and RESTful APIs)

Soft Skills & Mindset:

  • An inquisitive nature paired with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to participate in—and often lead—technical discussions.

  • Ability to learn rapidly and adapt to highly complex, fast-moving issues.

  • A collaborative mindset, happy to work alongside a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • A proactive attitude toward personal development and a strong sense of care and responsibility for your work.

Trayport is committed to creating and sustaining a collegial work environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect and one which reflects the diversity of the community in which we operate. We provide accommodations for applicants and employees who require it.
