As part of the Engineering team, the London IT Helpdesk provides support to users based in London.

About the job:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Mission-Critical Support: Provide immediate, high-touch technical resolution for trading desk hardware and software, including Bloomberg Terminal, Eikon, and proprietary execution platforms.

  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain and troubleshoot high-spec workstations, complex multi-display setups, and specialized peripherals (e.g., turret phones, high-speed input devices).

  • Incident Response: Act as the first line of defense during market hours, managing real-time trade-floor outages with urgency and precision.

  • Environment Optimization: Standardize desktop builds and automate repetitive tasks to ensure the trading environment remains lean, secure, and performant.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with Network and Server teams to diagnose latency issues or connectivity drops that impact trade execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Industry Expertise: 5+ years of desktop support experience, with at least 2+ years specifically on a high-pressure trading floor or within a FinTech environment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Windows 10/11 Enterprise, Active Directory, O365, and advanced hardware diagnostics.

  • Market Data Knowledge: Proven experience installing and troubleshooting Bloomberg, Reuters/Eikon, FactSet, and various FIX-based trading applications.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional while a trader is shouting over a market move.

  • Availability: Flexibility to support early market open shifts or late-day maintenance windows
