Make an impact
The Data Scientist II, Hotel Enterprise Partnerships Analytics role sits within Expedia Group’s Supply and Marketplace Analytics organization. Our Hotel Enterprise Partnerships team helps strengthen relationships with hotel partners by turning complex data into clear insights that improve strategic margin revenue, supply quality, and commercial decision-making.
In this role, you will work with large datasets, analytics products, and cross-functional partners to explain performance, identify opportunities, and create recommendations that help Expedia Group and its partners grow. You will have the opportunity to build scalable reporting and insight solutions while developing your expertise in a global travel marketplace.
In this role, you will
  • Frame business questions as analytical problems, break them into practical tasks, and recommend approaches that balance analytical quality, effort, and time.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources using SQL and Python, R, or a similar language; create reliable datasets, reusable code, and basic data pipelines or workflows.
  • Develop data-driven insights and recommendations that support hotel partner discussions, commercial decisions, supply quality, and performance improvement.
  • Apply descriptive statistics, regression, experimentation, and causal or pre/post analysis where appropriate, clearly explaining assumptions, limitations, and results.
  • Create clear visualizations, dashboards, executive summaries, and other artifacts that help technical and non-technical stakeholders understand what is happening and what to do next.
  • Master latest AI productivity technology to revolutionize the depth and the trust in your work.
  • Collaborate transparently with analytics, product, data, engineering, and commercial partners; seek feedback early and share knowledge with teammates.

Experience and qualifications
  • You have 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
  • You have demonstrated experience using SQL and Python, R, or a similar programming language to analyze, structure, transform, and visualize large datasets.
  • You efficiently leverage AI to speed-up delivery, automate and add depth to your analyses.
  • You understand probability, descriptive statistics, regression, and common experiment designs such as pre/post analysis, A/B testing, or causal impact analysis.
  • You can combine data from multiple sources, perform data quality checks, and write efficient, shareable code that can be translated into a data pipeline or reused by others.
  • You can explain analytical methods, caveats, and recommendations clearly to audiences with different levels of technical understanding, including stakeholders up to Senior Manager level.
  • You bring curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, business acumen, and a collaborative approach to working through ambiguous questions.
