Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for are a Data Product Owner to take ownership of our data products’ lifecycle. In this role, you will combine the oversight of a product owner with the analytical rigor of a data business analyst.

You will translate customer needs into a clear product vision and roadmap, ensuring our data solutions deliver meaningful business impact. Given that our delivery teams are distributed worldwide, a portion of this role will involve international travel to drive collaboration and synchronize efforts across regions.

This role is instrumental in integrating state-of-the-art technologies—Microsoft Fabric for robust data processing, Power Platform for advanced BI, DevOps for workflow management, and Databricks for advanced analytics and scalable data science—into our data product strategy.

What you will be doing:

Product Vision & Ownership:

  • Define and manage the data product roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Own the product backlog, ensuring priorities reflect customer needs and market trends.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary liaison for stakeholders, transforming customer challenges and business requirements. Using techniques like Entity Relationship Diagrams to link business process information into data products.
  • Gather, validate, and incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine data product features.

Data Strategy & Analysis:

  • Conduct business and data analysis to pinpoint opportunities for data products that will that drive operational efficiency and digital innovation.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to steer product enhancements and inform critical decision-making.

Technology Integration & Innovation:

  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric and Databricks for data processing, ensuring robust and scalable data products.
  • Leverage DevOps to automate workflows and streamline data product deployments.
  • Utilize Databricks for building advanced analytics solutions and data engineering pipelines that support continuous innovation.
  • Champion the adoption of industry best practices and agile methodologies to deliver continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Global Delivery:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams—including data engineers, analysts, IT specialists, and regional teams—to deliver high-quality, scalable data products on time.
  • Coordinate with globally distributed team members; occasional international travel will be necessary to ensure seamless integration, support, and collaboration.

Data Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensure all data products adhere to global governance standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:

  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess data product success and drive iterative enhancements.
  • Lead retrospectives and post-launch reviews to continually evolve data product capabilities.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Data Product Owner or Data Business Analyst within a global, data-driven organization.
  • Deep understanding of modern data ecosystems and the business value of data products.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, DevOps, and Databricks including integration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with leveraging agile methodologies and DevOps practices in rapid, iterative product development.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert complex data insights into strategic business outcomes.

Stakeholder & Communication Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively managing diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in data story telling capable of weaving business information into visualisations

Adaptability & Global Mindset:

  • Willingness to travel internationally for collaboration with global teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-driven environment while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
