Infopro Digital is recruiting for a data journalist to join its Risk.net brand based in London.
Risk.net is the leading source of in-depth news and analysis on risk management, financial markets and regulation. Our journalism is trusted by senior figures at financial firms, regulators and policymakers globally. Working at Risk.net means being part of a globally respected newsroom that sets the agenda for financial decision-makers.
Risk Quantum, the data-driven arm of Risk.net, transforms publicly available financial data into impactful journalism. Through sharp analysis and compelling visualisations, we make financial risk-related topics accessible and engaging, bringing complex risk management, regulatory and market trends to life.
The role
We are looking for a journalist comfortable working with data to join the Risk Quantum editorial team, based in London with hybrid working.
You will uncover newsworthy stories hidden in financial data and turn them into clear, authoritative articles that help readers understand how their peers and competitors are performing and how markets are evolving.
Working with a team of data journalists, you will produce daily stories using information from bank disclosures, regulatory filings, stress test results and market infrastructure data, alongside other structured and unstructured data in public filings, regulatory reports and industry papers.
This role requires strong reporting instincts and the ability to move quickly from analysis to publication, producing accurate, insightful journalism under tight deadlines.
Reporters are encouraged to develop their own coverage areas and bring forward new ideas for datasets and stories.
Key responsibilities
- Write clear, insightful articles based on publicly available financial and regulatory data.
- Analyse and interpret datasets from banks, funds, CCPs and other financial institutions to identify newsworthy developments.
- Create charts and visualisations that help readers quickly understand the key findings in each story.
- Identify emerging trends in financial risk, markets and regulation.
- Work closely with other journalists across the newsroom on stories and investigations.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity and adherence to house style in all published content.
- Identify new datasets and develop new areas of coverage.
- Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity and accuracy.
Why join us?
At Risk.net, you’ll cover some of the most important developments shaping financial markets and risk management, working alongside expert journalists while developing a unique blend of data and investigative skills.
Our team of around 30 journalists and editors, based in London, New York and Hong Kong, collaborate closely on stories and share insights across the newsroom.
We value curiosity, ambition and fresh thinking. This is a chance to build expertise in one of the most specialised and influential areas of financial journalism.
Interested?
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you.
Please submit your CV and a cover letter. As part of your application, include one example of a story you believe could be written from a publicly available financial dataset, briefly explaining the dataset and the angle you would pursue.
Apply now and join a team delivering high-impact financial journalism.
