Why we need you

We’re on a mission to build a near real‑time data warehouse for our business, and we believe your unique skills, passion, and drive will play a key role in helping us achieve that vision.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong data background, a genuine interest in cloud technologies, and the ambition to grow in this space. We’re committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning—regularly running proof‑of‑concepts, sharing internal demos, hosting workshops, and attending external conferences.

Our data team brings together a broad range of expertise, including real‑time event streaming, long‑term analytics in our data lake, development of highly transactional RDBMS systems, data warehousing, data science, and cloud engineering. We’re always pushing ourselves—and each other—to elevate our craft.

What you’ll be doing

As part of this role, you will:

  • Collaborate within an agile Data Engineering team, contributing to planning, delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with technical leads and business stakeholders to design and deliver scalable, high‑performance data solutions.
  • Share knowledge and grow alongside your peers through pair programming, workshops, mentoring, and collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Leverage the latest AI tools and techniques to enhance development workflows and improve team efficiency.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL services and real‑time data pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and high data quality.
  • Deliver both functional and non‑functional requirements, taking ownership of implementation quality and alignment with best practices.
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, embedding automated testing to ensure consistent, high‑quality releases.

This job description outlines the core responsibilities of the role but is not exhaustive. You may be asked to take on additional reasonable duties to support broader business objectives.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills we require for this role include:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations
  • Demonstrable understanding of data processing using SQL or C#
  • Exposure to building data services in a cloud environment (ideally Azure)

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

The following skills and experience would be highly beneficial:

  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types, and market trends
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
  • Experience working with the ClickHouse OLAP database engine
  • Proficiency in  .NET, Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code, Node.JS
  • Experience using GitHub and Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and modern AI-assisted coding practices
  • Experience with message queues and building eventually consistent systems (such Kafka, or Azure Event Hubs)
  • Experience providing Infrastructure as Code, eg using Terraform or Pulumi
  • Experience writing automated tests and integrating them into a CI/CD pipeline
