About Infrata

Infrata, part of dss+, is a specialist infrastructure advisory business supporting public and private sector clients on complex, high-impact investments.

Working with governments, infrastructure owners, investors, lenders, and developers, we help clients make better strategic decisions across transport, energy, digital infrastructure, water, and the energy transition. Combining deep sector expertise with commercial insight, Infrata helps shape the infrastructure that powers economies and communities around the world.

Why This Role

Infrata holds one of the most substantial project intelligence assets in the infrastructure advisory market: three decades of technical, commercial, and market analysis spanning more than 600 engagements across every major infrastructure sector.

This newly created role will lead the transformation of that asset from an archive into a structured, governed, and searchable knowledge base — the foundation for how Infrata delivers, prices, and differentiates its advisory work in the decade ahead.

You will own the data foundations, steward Infrata's proprietary analytical tools, and lead the responsible evaluation and adoption of new technologies — working closely with senior leadership, delivery teams, and dss+ group digital functions. This is a build role for a practitioner who wants to shape something from first principles inside an established, high-credibility advisory brand.

Your Impact at Infrata

You will turn Infrata's institutional knowledge into a durable competitive advantage — improving the speed, consistency, and depth of client delivery while safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity on which the firm's reputation depends.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design and lead the structuring of Infrata's project archive into a curated precedent and knowledge library, including taxonomy, metadata standards, and quality assurance processes.

  • Establish and enforce data governance for the knowledge base: confidentiality classification, client consent and reliance restrictions, retention, and access controls, working with legal and compliance advisers.

  • Steward and develop Infrata's proprietary analytical tools, ensuring they are maintained, documented, and consistently applied across engagements.

  • Build the data pipelines and retrieval infrastructure needed to make structured knowledge available to delivery teams at the point of use.

  • Evaluate, scope, and lead pilots of new technologies — including AI-assisted document review and drafting — within group-approved platforms, licensing, and information security policies.

  • Define success measures for technology pilots and translate proven pilots into standard delivery practice, including training and adoption support for consulting teams.

  • Collaborate with dss+ group IT, information security, and digital platform teams to align Infrata's data and tooling roadmap with group architecture and procurement.

  • Advise Infrata leadership on the data and technology implications of new service development, ensuring analytical outputs remain expert-led and subject to professional review.

Who You Are

You are a hands-on data practitioner with strong engineering fundamentals and sound judgement about governance, confidentiality, and the practical limits of technology in a professional services environment.

Experience

  • Significant experience in data engineering, knowledge management, or applied data roles — ideally within professional services, engineering consultancy, financial services, or another document-intensive, regulated environment.

  • Proven track record structuring large volumes of unstructured content (reports, models, technical documents) into governed, searchable knowledge assets.

  • Hands-on experience with modern data tooling: Python or similar, document processing, search and retrieval systems, and cloud data platforms.

  • Practical experience deploying or piloting large language model and AI-assisted workflows in a governed corporate setting, including prompt design, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop review.

  • Experience working with information security, legal, and compliance stakeholders on data classification, confidentiality, and acceptable-use frameworks.

Capabilities

  • Strong data architecture and pipeline design capability, with a pragmatic, delivery-first mindset.

  • Rigorous approach to data governance, confidentiality, and quality assurance.

  • Ability to translate between technical teams, consultants, and senior leadership — and to drive adoption, not just build systems.

  • Sound judgement on where automation adds value and where expert human review must remain in control.

  • Self-starting and comfortable operating without an established data function around you.

Education & Languages

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience.

  • Fluency in English required; additional languages advantageous.

Mobility

  • Occasional travel to dss+ offices and client locations as required.

Growth & Benefits

  • We invest in your development and success through:

  • A rare greenfield mandate over a genuinely differentiated dataset

  • Exposure to globally significant infrastructure programmes and clients

  • Professional development and training support

  • Competitive compensation and performance incentives

  • Flexible working policies
