About the Role:
We are growing the Data Team at iSAM. This is a full stack python development role, focused on data. An ideal candidate would have enthusiasm for quantitative data and a drive to understand, model and analyse a variety of datasets, collaborating across a fast paced, multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Onboard, build and model datasets of varying frequency
- Explore data, conduct analysis and integrate data into our backtest framework
- Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and the wider investment teams
- Production support for datasets in live trading
- Ongoing work to grow and develop the system across strategies and regions
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience
- Strong python programming skills
- Experience with financial data, ideally equities, derivatives or other tradeable asset classes
- Experience working with data in quantitative investing and the ability to deliver practical solutions in imperfect data environments
- Familiarity with numerical python libraries e.g., numpy, pandas and polars
- SQL experience with any flavour of SQL
- Experience with version control, test driven development, linux and navigating and working in large codebase
- Flexibility to work across a variety of areas in a highly collaborative team and take significant ownership of tasks
