ROLE OVERVIEW

Welocalize is seeking a Multilingual Data Annotation Project Manager for an initial 1-year contract to join our global localization delivery team. In this role, you will lead the execution, validation, and delivery of high-volume multilingual localization and quality assurance (LQA) projects for our enterprise clients. You will act as the key operational bridge between client-side teams, in-country linguistic reviewers, translation vendors, and internal talent communities to ensure multilingual assets are culturally aligned, linguistically flawless, and delivered on schedule.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage end-to-end localization projects, including scope planning, resource allocation, schedule tracking, and final delivery of multilingual content.

  • Prepare comprehensive project briefs, handoff packages, linguistic quality guidelines, and progress trackers for global teams.

  • Coordinate and onboard in-country reviewers, freelance linguists, subject matter experts (SMEs), and translation vendors.

  • Partner with Quality Specialists to operationalize Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) frameworks, scorecards, error typologies, and evaluation rubrics.

  • Monitor project financials, budgets, and operational margins to ensure service delivery aligns with established KPIs.

  • Run quality checks, facilitate reviewer calibration sessions, and manage feedback loops to resolve linguistic differences and improve output consistency.

  • Support client relationship management by serving as a primary operational contact, proactively managing project risks, and quickly addressing delivery blockers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven project management experience in a fast-paced, client-centric environment within the translation or localization industry.

  • Deep understanding of localization lifecycles, internationalization (i18n) readiness, and translation quality evaluation (TQE) processes.

  • Practical experience working with Translation Management Systems (TMS) and Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools (such as Smartling, Phrase, XTM, or Crowdin).

  • Strong capability in coordinating virtual, diverse teams of linguists and localization vendors across multiple global time zones.

  • Solid experience managing project budgets, scope-of-work changes, and financial tracking systems.

  • Experience utilizing bug-tracking and project management systems (such as Jira and Confluence) to track linguistic errors, validation feedback, and project tasks.

OTHER SKILLS

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate complex operational requirements.

  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a strong attention to detail.

  • High level of resilience and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight turnaround times and budget constraints.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust, resolve disputes, and maintain collaborative relationships with both external clients and global suppliers.

  • Active curiosity and a proactive mindset to continuously evaluate, document, and improve manual workflow steps.
