Job Description

This role is based in Welwyn Garden City

The Data Analyst will oversee the management of price and promotion data feeds on a daily basis for one of the UK’s largest grocery retailers. This role, embedded at the retailers HQ, involves building and maintaining strong relationships with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders while ensuring data is managed, analysed, and delivered efficiently.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a data professional with experience in managing large datasets who is eager to advance their career by working closely with the UK’s leading grocery retailer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage large data sets from multiple sources, ensuring data is consistently processed and loaded into systems.
  • Monitor the quality and accuracy of data, performing validation checks regularly.
  • Track changes in retailer price and promotion policies, ensuring data reflects the latest updates.
  • Resolve data queries and implement process improvements to enhance data management.
  • Lead the automation of processes and continuously refine data handling workflows.
  • Analyse data sets to support business insights and facilitate understanding of trends and key metrics.
  • Collaborate with data providers and internal teams at grocery retailer to enhance services and identify areas requiring additional data collection.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth data operations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with large datasets, including the ability to analyze and interpret complex data effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in working with APIs, Excel, and database management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate trends and insights derived from large datasets to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset with a keen ability to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within data.
  • A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for staying informed about industry topics, trends, and advancements.
