Your mission

You will be part of the Innovation team of the company. You will be developing Proof-of-concepts in the context of various R&D projects. In particular, you will deploy data processing framework & develop artificial intelligence algorithms (Deep learning, Reinforcement learning). You will also contribute to the development of AI within Thales Belgium. You will be included in a team of both internal colleagues & external partners.

The working language is English, French is an asset.

Main Responsibilities  

The data & AI scientist will be involved in a series of Proof-of-Concepts aiming at demonstrating the feasibility of introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of various capabilities for future products. Your task will be:

  • to collect &/or emulate data;
  • to develop software allowing to process these data and make them usable by our AI;
  • to elaborate and train AI models and share this expertise with Eurocontrol by coaching junior data scientists within the team.
  • to participate in the development of AI within Thales Belgium, e.g. by building & operating an AI lab.
  • to write technical reports.

We are looking forward to

Technical:

  • Experience and good knowledge of Python (tenserflow/keras, pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, matplotlib),
  • Experience and good knowledge of SQL querying.
  • A good knowledge of common statistical models and machine learning algorithms used in data science.
  • Understanding of HADOOP/Cloudera framework, inclusive HDFS, HIVE, IMPALA, SPARK ,…
  • Experience and good knowledge of Linux OS and scripting techniques (Bash/Ksh)

General:

  •  Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with writing reports and publications related to AI topics in MS Word and/or LateX.
  • Ability to understand business needs and analyze data
  • A Master’s degree or PhD in data science with option AI, or relevant experience
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
